What industry “secret” do you know that most people don’t?

Costco makes zero dollars on anything they sell.. ZERO.. which is why they are able to offer such low prices, they literally sell items for the wholesale prices they pay … the only money Costco makes is on selling memberships .
Source: I worked for a company that sold many products in Costco.. and unless theyve changed their business model in the last 4 or 5 yrs, what i said above is 100% accurate .

not true, memberships account for about half their profit. it is by far their most profitable "item" but not all of their profit.

Democrats are better for oil production companies than Republicans. They want to reduce drilling which reduces supply causing an imbalance of supply and demand driving up the price of oil. Which oil production companies love! Not necessarily good for us consumers though.

Movie theaters make most of their money from concessions. Almost all the ticket sale money goes to the movie studios

Catfish processors were coordinating to fix prices in the 90s. Several plants got fined millions for it on fixing prices for large contracts to Chicago companies.
What was never known is they did it for government contracts too and one guy steered the investigation by the feds toward the fixing on private companies and was able to hide the govt contract fixing. Had they found out about the govt contracts it would have been much worse. Guy is dead now and the biggest offenders (delta pride before they sold, farm fresh, southfresh and southern pride) are no longer in business so doesn’t matter now
