I'll add this one for all the doordash users: a couple months back I went into the bathroom and got hit with the smell of a thousand shits, and could hear a guy grunting it out in the stall. Under the stall door, at his feet on the bathroom floor, I could see four bags of orders he was delivering.

I do design work for the US Military.
The amount of paperwork you have to do to make a change is insane. Stuff you would never do on a civilian contract.

Democrats are better for oil production companies than Republicans. They want to reduce drilling which reduces supply causing an imbalance of supply and demand driving up the price of oil. Which oil production companies love! Not necessarily good for us consumers though.

Is this at all true? Looking back over the last 40 years, US oil production was flat during the Republican led 80s, declined year over year under both Clinton and W, and starting increasing dramatically under Obama, continuing through Trump (Covid blip notwithstanding), and is currently at all time record highs under Biden.

It seems that neither party correlates to oil and gas production.

Most don’t know the catfish industry holds the record for consecutive years of growth of any U.S. industry in history. It grew in acreage and revenue/sales every year from the early 60s until 2003. The amount of money that flooded into it was unreal. People used to drive down from cities like New York and drive around the delta looking for people building ponds and stop and ask if they needed investments. The money led to incredible stories of huge parties, private planes, sports cars, illegal casinos, strippers, murders. Farmers drove Lincoln’s and Cadillacs on the ponds instead of trucks. Imagine a bunch of broke rednecks becoming millionaires almost overnight

Get Scorsese on it.

Just about every person in oil &gas really cares deeply about the environment. Most of us are hunters and fishermen.

Costco makes zero dollars on anything they sell.. ZERO..

A distant relative grows chickens under contract for Costco. Costco loses just over $1 per rotisserie chicken they sell. But they do it to bring customers into the store, where they do make a decent profit on some other items. Overall their profit margin is lower than most stores. But it is not ZERO.

This is in no way shape or form a ‘secret’ to anyone from, or who has lived in, NOLA .

The ice machine is the dirtiest thing in the restaurant cause it is never drained and cleaned. I’m not in the industry, just saw a news report 15 years ago about how much bacteria and nastiness are in them on the reg

Can confirm. I once worked at a restaurant where we occasionally would find a roach in the ice. For some reason, I finally looked up inside the machine and there were 100’s of frozen roaches at the top.

Tea urn nozzles get pretty disgusting too. Most restaurants clean them frequently but not always. I can taste it when restaurants need to clean their urn nozzles.

The several CEOs of the leading companies would meet in Puerto Rico at a non related conference each year to decide which company would get which government contract, what they would bid to get the business contract and what the other companies would bid. Then they would shake hands like true gentlemen and part ways, flying out over the next two days back to their corporate headquarters via stops at several locations.

Many state of the art improvements in commodities Performance, price and safety resulted in purchase of the technology by the big three in that field and then trashing the work done by others to improve our lives or make the things we need to survive less expensive. In a few cases, the developer of the improvement was killed if they chose to not sell their discovery.

The largest oil leak in US history is not BP Macondo. It is Taylor Energy’s MC20 platforms wells.

90% of the "off brand" things are manufactured by the "brand" manufacturers. It is a way of keeping the factories running full out.

There definitely is a taste to it. We clean them but once a month I just toss them. They are free so why not. As for the soda nozzles mentioned before, we got away from soaking over night. There was a lot less mold build up in the rubber parts that seal it when we cleaned and dried. Those parts are also free so you might as well just toss them and the diffusers. If you still don't trust nozzles then drink only from the carbonated drinks. The ones without carbonation see the fastest mold growth

For those living on the east coast of Florida mainly. Mayport shrimp are not all from right of the coast. It is a brand name they came up with years ago. The shrimp could be from North Carolina to Daytona but it was genius and everyone asks for those.
