Won't happen. We'll hire another young G5 HC or a "head coach in waiting, we swear!" coordinator.

As a UGA fan, I don't want Lane anywhere near UF.
But yeah you're probably right.

Oh, and Saban was a cheater. Level playing field does not work for him.
He just won the SEC with his third worst team ever and Jalen Milroe at QB

False equivalency. Coaches grind in the profession to make it to that high leverage position - they get paid and treated like dirt early on in their careers, with rewards at the back end.
Coaching contracts are based on potential. Look around and see all the buyouts being paid for failed coaches.

Players have proven nothing in that regard. They want, and now get it, day 1. Not saying it's right/wrong, but the "coaches do it" argument is extremely fallible.
Proven nothing? Do you think Alabama just hands out scholarships and NIL to anyone wearing a junior high football uniform? You don't get to wear an SEC football uniform unless you have proven yourself at the level before you (JUST LIKE A COACH)

The parallels are closer than you realize. The only difference is the players have a shorter window to make that money and none of them are getting contracts guaranteed for tens of millions like the coaches. Most players have 4-5 years to make some money.

Saban was protected by the his buddies at the NCAA for years and allowed to play by a different set of rules. A level playing field must have been tough to swallow.
Same set of rules probably the top 40 athletic programs also enjoyed. If you’re nationally relevant in football or men’s basketball, the NCAA stopped jacking with you about 30 years ago. As long as you weren’t out and open about it.

Lane turning down Florida State to stay at Ole Miss might have been the death nail to the ACC.

Yeah I heard Bama players had to panhandle to even get a McDouble

I would kill to eat every meal from the "dining hall" that Alabama football players eat at.

It wouldn’t shock me if some 55-60 year old established coaches that have made almost $100M over their careers say frick it, I’m coaching HS in the future.
Or become coordinators that aren't expected to recruit nearly as much (See: Chip Kelly).

Saban is the greatest coach of all-time, and while the Milroe part is true, that roster was still the most talented in all of college football.

People think the NCAA infractions committee is some independent organization.
Nope.
Just like the FBI, they're corrupted... And actually just former ADs and administrators and presidents installed by "friends of the program". The SEC was ahead of the game...and realized, you don't hide from the NCAA, you BUY the NCAA just like your players.

Are you fricking serious? Stevie Wonder could have seen the shite the Rev was doing at Ole Piss with that recruiting class they signed from a mile away.

Poor Nick. I feel so bad for him and his millions and millions in the bank.
What a fricking joke. He cannot operate unless he has dictator control. He’s losing that(like everyone else is too) so he abruptly quits.
Give me a fricking break man

With unlimited access to world class trainers, tutors, free college education, and private chefs for every meal. Oh and smoothie/snack bar in between meals. All free.
Spare me the bullshite about them having a tough go at it.

alabama had known for months that saban was leaving. Acting like this happened swiftly from zero to completion in 2 days is ridiculous.
Especially with DeBoer rejecting a huge pay raise mid-season and again around Thanksgiving WITHOUT any counter-offer...

Are you just gonna pretend Ole Miss wasn't dirty as frick?

Kind of like your 2007 class no? Saban comes in, goes 6-6 with losses to ULM, and y’all just happened to sign the best class in the country?

frick everyone who supported pay for play and unlimited transfers. You ruined college football forever.
Posted on 3/6/24 at 3:43 pm to Frac the world
When college football implodes in the next 10 to 15 years, the race-baiting hustlers and SJW do-gooders who pushed NIL and unlimited transfers will simply move on to their next crusade of destruction. They won't care about the thousands of minority athletes who no longer have an avenue to a college education. They'll just pat themselves on the back and tell each other how virtuous they are.
