They knew what they were talkin' about. You knew what they were talkin' about. Everyone knew what they were talkin' about. But they wrapped the words in a lyrical prose designed to tantalize the senses.
The use of explicit language in music has been around for a long time. In the 1970s, some artists, such as Led Zeppelin, were known for using explicit language in their lyrics. In later years, the use of explicit language in rap music became more common and mainstream. Today, the use of explicit language in music is widespread and can be found in many different types of songs.
One of the great ones..
Led Zeppelin's "The Lemon Song" lyrics.

But the greatest had to be..
Led Zeppelin's Whole Lot Of Love (Lyrics)
LOL! What Was It All About!
The meaning behind Led Zeppelin’s 1969 hit “Whole Lotta Love” is more about lust rather than a whole lotta the former. Using lyrics that involve yearning and drooling, the racy rock standard heaves with lascivious intentions against a throbbing rhythm and pulsating guitar riff.

Poison, "Unskinny Bop"
What's got you so jumpy?
Why can't you sit still, yeah?
Like gasoline you want to pump me
And leave me when you get your fill, yeah
Every time I touch you, you get hot
I want to make love, you never stop
Come up for air you pull me to the floor
What's been going on in that head of yours
Unskinny bop
Just blows me away, yeah
Unskinny bop, bop
All night and day, yeah
Unskinny bop, bop, bop, bop
She just loves to play
Unskinny bop nothin' more to say
You look at me so funny
Love bite got you acting oh so strange
You got too many bees in your, honey
Am I just another word in your page, yeah, yeah
Every time I touch you, you get hot
I want to make love, you never stop
Come up for air you pull me to the floor
What's been going on in that head of yours?
Unskinny bop

Unskinny bop, bop
All night and day, yeah
Unskinny bop, bop, bop, bop

Only because I watched the “professor of rock” video on it yesterday, I’m going to mention “Wild Thing” by the Trogs. Interesting I also learned that the guy who wrote it is Jon Voights brother.

I mean, the very foundation of "Rock n Roll" was innuendo/term for fricking, not dancing. In 1922, Trixie Smith sang "My Man Rocks Me (with One Steady Roll)" about her man coming home and them doing it until 1am when she finally looked at the clock.
So basically, anytime you hear "Rock" as a lyric in a song, just replace it with "frick".

Louie Louie by the Kingsmen. Investigated by the FBI for the lyrics. FBI eventually said they could not understand the singer's words.

Even as a 2nd grader, I knew what Mark Lyndsay meant with:
Let me, let me, let me
Baby don't you get me
Let me, let me, let me
Baby don't you get me

Anyone with an interest in this topic should check the infamous Lucille Bogan's Shave 'Em Dry. First sung by Ma Rainey without explicit lyrics in the 1920s then dirtied up in Bogan's later version. The title refers to fricking with no prep i.e. foreplay.

LOL! Got me thinking about my old music classes in college and the music of the 1920's. It goes WAY back.
In older songs, the term "jelly roll" had a double meaning, often referring to sexual intercourse. Origins were in African American communities in the early 20th century and was later adopted by other groups.
I Googled this for example:
Here are some examples of songs where "jelly roll" likely has the second meaning:
"Shake That Thing" - Ethel Waters (1928): "...Why, there's old Uncle Jack, the jellyroll king."
"Fogyism" - Ida Cox (1928): "...When your man comes home evil, tell you you are getting old / [...] That's a true sign he's got someone else bakin' his jelly roll."
"Teasin' Brown Blues" - Louie Lasky (1928): "I'm crazy 'bout the way you do it, / I'm talkin' 'bout your jelly-roll."

Similarities with "You Need Love" led to a lawsuit against Led Zeppelin in 1985, settled out of court in favour of Willie Dixon for an undisclosed amount. On subsequent releases, Dixon's name is included on the credits for "Whole Lotta Love"

'well, what am I going to sing?' That was it, a nick. Now happily paid for. At the time, there was a lot of conversation about what to do. It was decided that it was so far away in time and influence that ... well, you only get caught when you're successful. That's the game.
