Just watched the first one and it was excellent. This one I'm sure will be awesome too.

The movie is perfect for book readers and newbies.

There are some things that happen in the movie that aren't in the book, but the story is perfectly told. It even shows Frank Herberts intent with the story line better than the book.

I cant wait to watch it again. And again.

This is likely common knowledge, but the first Dune is currently streaming on Netflix.

I had a buddy get to see an early showing this weekend and he said its the best Sci-Fi movie he has ever seen. Said Austin Butler specifically killed it.

Saw it last night….absolutely brilliant film. It’s a must see in IMAX or an IMAX-equivalent. Hopefully it does well enough so that we get Dune Messiah.

Got the early bird tickets, saw it last night. It was worth they hype. Really great second installment. Definitely can't wait until Dune-Messiah. I would suggest going to IMAX, it was worth it.

Yeah his character was awesome. Those scenes were the best of the movie imo.

I believe it’s leaving at the end of February (Thursday) so watch this week if you can!

How do they handle the character of Alia?

The actress who plays her, Anya Taylor-Joy, is now 18. Do they just play the character as older than in the book and other films, or do they use CGI or other effects to make her look much younger?

ETA: Why the down votes? Seems like an obvious question. Isn’t Alia about 4 years old at the battle of Arrakeen?

I think this is going to crush it at the box office. Now to avoid these threads until I can see the movie.

More to come. Dune: part 1 & Dune: part 2 (films) tell the story of the first Dune book.

Books:
1. Dune
2. Dune: Messiah
3. Children of Dune

I keep trying to get my wife to watch it with me. But she’s definitely the short attention span type.

I rewatched it on Sunday and watched it again with my wife last night. I had zero hope that she would last even 10 minutes. She also said she didn't want to watch a "boy movie." We started it at 9 and she watched the whole thing, I couldn't believe it.

Now we're gonna see the new one in the theater, she hasn't gone to the movie theater in like a decade because she always falls asleep but she liked it a lot.

watched Dune 1 with the wife last night. My wife normally hates sci-fi movies like this but she saw Jason Momoa and stayed longer and I used the analogy of the different houses with Game of Thrones and believe it or not she watched the whole thing with me. We are going see Dune 2 this weekend

Saw the first one. Wasn't into it. The actors in the original are a million times better looking, though.

You think Patrick Stewart is a million times better looking than Josh Brolin?

I’m pretty sure every woman I know would say Jason Momoa is better looking than Richard Jordan

And one name girl looks like a gawky little dude compared to Sean Young and Virginia Madsen.
