I’m very much looking forward to it.

But to rephrase my original point, I’ve been trying not to think about the movie

I never read books or anything. Do we see how the story ends this movie or we have to wait another year(s)?

We should see how this part of the story, parts 1 & 2 being the retelling of the first original book. But this is just the first story of an anthology of books that were very successful - and had some successful TV miniseries versions. There is talk the next film in the universe will be based on the next book. But I think a lot depends on how much money this actually brings in. Part 1 seemed to cover the costs of production and make a smallish mint. We'll see....

It made $400 million on a $165 million budget, but after all the marketing costs and theater cut it’s possible it lost a bit of money for WB. But we have to take in account Part 1 was available for free for Max subscribers on day 1 of the theatrical run. Part 2’s budget is reportedly $190 million, but with no immediate streaming option it’s going to blow Part 1’s box office performance out of the water. I think it also beats the first movie’s six Academy Awards. Messiah is coming, I have no doubt.

I’ll be doing my part. Have tickets to the IMAX early showing tomorrow at 7pm and for the first normal showing Thursday at 3pm.

Sounds like a good plan.

I'm just up for some good sci-fi.

I don't know why you have downvotes here. I am definitely looking forward to Dune 2, I think many are.

I'm thinking of rewatching original Dune (1984) and Dune 1, but I'm obligated to watch Rebel Moon first for other reasons.

I keep trying to get my wife to watch it with me. But she’s definitely the short attention span type. This is the type of movie you need to fully pay attention during to fully appreciate/understand if. Definitely will be a later night watch once the kids are in bed and she’s doing her own thing.

I’ve got like 40 pages left of the novel Dune. Then need to rewatch Dune 1. Probably gonna see Dune 3/1 midday

I’m doing this currently. Takes me a few days to watch a movie.
