They must all be ready to retire. Would think schools would tell them to F off on this.
How else do we get the booster girl into his room? The, "I was here decorating your room" Penthouse Forum letter has been working well for decades. Who will the cookie bouquet lady be able to sell all of those Purple & Gold cookies too?

Time to put the "maids" back in the hotel rooms when they go into their room!

Some of these rules, like the photoshoot one for unofficial visits, are made because they are petitioned for by the schools themselves.
The arms races has gotten out of control, and the time demands of the support staff are wayyyyy out of control. So they ask the NCAA to be the bad guy and ban the things that are time and labor intensive so they don't work the support staff to death.
This. The schools want some of these restrictions because it’s gotten absurd and it’s a never ending race to the top as schools try and keep up

I might be old, but I don’t understand just letting anyone come to campus and take photos in your team’s uniform. Especially when dads and uncles are putting them on with a player. Ready for that dumb trend to die

They're practically begging to put out of business by their affiliate conferences at this point.
These people are allergic to productivity.

Yeah everyone angry at the NCAA saying this is pointless needs to realize many of the schools/support staffs honestly want this and the photoshop thing. Probably some other similar ones coming to

Lol this just screams lazy.
We don’t want to invest the time and effort into doing this trivial thing so we don’t want anyone else to be able to do it.
Besides what recruit is this really going to win over? Yeah coach I know you’ve had 8 CBS drafted over the last 5 years but State gave me 3 bags of Doritos in my hotel room soooooo

CFB is saved!

Out of all the things the NCAA wants to address
Well, they went after Harbaugh for buying a recruit a hamburger in this NIL world.
They're just trying to keep their useless jobs in this new CFB that's made them totally unnecessary.
People think the NCAA is Collegiate FBI. Its just a bunch of guys who were ADs at schools or former players and they have petty beefs with some schools and look the other way at others (ahem, Bama)... But mostly they just want to wear a suit and tie and have a now irrelevant job.
Posted on 2/22/24 at 3:43 pm to Tigerbait357
This is what chased Harbaugh out. Cake regulations. Good job, NCAA.
Posted on 2/22/24 at 3:43 pm to Tigerbait357
As if we need more examples of why the NCAA is anachronistic and out of touch, then they go and pull this.
frick the NCAA.
frick the NCAA.

This is the Babylon Bee, right? Kids are getting multi million NIL deals and brand new cars BUT no cookie cakes!!! Someone needs to sue this joke of an organization out of existence.

Is that code for prostitutes? Asking for my friend Hugh Freeze.

I wondered how long it would take them to finally crack down on this horrible activity.

A school literally can't do this.

I’m sure a stack of cash underneath the hotel bible is all the decorations a recruit would want. The NCAA is a joke and on its way out.

3,000 NCAA employees in Indianapolis trying to earn their checks this week.
Cut that down to about 300 essential folks and give that money back to the schools and students instead of a gutless group of administrators.

Next thing will be recruits have to order the chicken at the steakhouse recruit dinner.

Yeah that’s the issue with college athletics these days
It’s time for the sec and big ten to pull away
