In order to file an appeal, the courts require a deposit for the full amount of the damages or a bond covering the full amount.

This is terrible, but 70 million people voted for him in 20. Time for the hardliners to do more than just provide lip service to Trump.

So he doesn't have to come up with $455 million despite what your title says

You sure? I read another article that said 10% to appeal. Not the full amount.

That’s a particularly harsh requirement. Too bad.
Good thing we have an amendment that covers that, then.

I don't think he could do that without Trump having to pay taxes on the $350 million. Still much better than Trump having paying the full amount, though.

He’d quickly learn the value of MAL when the bond company either accepts or declines his valuation.

Chicos should be able to cover it easy.

Yeah but what bond co. would be stupid enough to put up $350 million for that deadbeat? I bet he has a hard time.

CCVP 5519 deals with the stay of enforcement during appeals and the filing of undertakings. I don't know if there is an option to not stay the judgment and appeal, but I presume that is of little utility in this matter as appeals can take years.

I hope that when he gets elected president he uses his office to avenge a high level of pay back against the neo cons that have tried to destroy him and his family. He should pull all federal funding from the state 0f New York and city of New York. Let them scream to the roof tops it’s all about revenge. He should then say yep it is F you. Never in my lifetime have I ever seen anything close to what they are doing to him using government.

He can obtain a bond from a surety company at a cost of even less than that amount (unless no company will bond him, but that's doubtful). A surety company may charge 10% on bail bonds though.

Turley's article says he can post a 10% bond, or the court in its discretion can forgo security in the appeal. We know the latter will not happen based on the makeup of the NY judiciary.
The problem with climbing the appellate ladder in a deep blue state is that the politics are the same all the way to the very top. At least with the case pending in Atlanta, he will eventually get to some more conservative jurists from other parts of Georgia.

So if this is true and there’s a good reason to believe it is… then we’re not voting to fix it

I am curious if this will be another line of attack. The FEC has some strict rules on the use of campaign funds for legal expenses. I don't know if you could argue this type of suit would be at the 50% use level rather than the 100% use level.
