He should ask the US Mint for 455 million dollars in loose change.

Then drive several 18 wheelers to the court and get out in a fork lift to deliver the 455 million dollars in loose change.

He’s not guilty of anything he’s charged with but he belongs in prison for his role in operation warp speed so it doesn’t bother me one bit

Trump is nonessential to borrow his word. Let him rot and let him burn in hell with the rest of this rotten stinking government. I couldn’t care less anymore

What an ignorant thing to say.

You belong in a third world country.

The problem will be the amount as well as restrictions that Engoron has placed on the Trump Organization. Basically in order to do anything they have to get the permission of a special master . He's hamstrung or he has to liquidate and potential buyers are going to smell blood in the water.....so low ball offers .

Or Elon could just stoke a check. The shreeking would be worth it to him.

Hell he spent $40 billion on twitter just so he could screw with people.

The GOAT of frick you money.

Tulsi has spoken out. I was talking about elected Dem officials.

I'm not kidding when I say I thought there was a chance that someone like AOC would say it's a slippery slope and an overreach of power. Guess I'm naive sometimes, but she did recently speak out against something that surprised me.

For the record, the 8th Amendment covers “excessive fines” and SCOTUS has held that it applies to the states, not just the Feds.

If Trump puts up the money and wins on appeal would he be awarded interest from NY?

And what if a bunch of real estate people pull out because of this law that will exacerbate the issues NY is having? NY is running a 4 billion deficit, they have taken a bunch of programs and housing from low income people (many who are blacks) and given that money to illegals.

We need Abbot to send even more busses. The implosion of NY would be a glorious thing.

Elon Musk is not going out on that limb. At least to any appreciable extent if at all. 450 million is still a sizeable chunk of change. What does Musk get for this "donation" ? It would not be seen as purely altruistic.

So, i know its not this easy, but doesn't Trump have close enough friends to Sell and Buy back based off this bogus situation to free up cash temp?

Quite honestly with the seismic fallout this ruling could unleash upon the economy and real estate market, a stay should be issued until the appeals process plays itself out. The Governor of NY can claim whatever she wants but they’ve already set the precedent to use it. Don’t think for a minute that the second another corporation gets on the wrong side of their political agenda they won’t use this again. Corporations borrow money all the time and all it takes now is a judge and prosecutor deciding you know what, they overvalued their collateral on this loan application, and then crush them. If they can do it to a billion dollar business, they can certainly do it to the little guy as well

This is the part that many people aren’t seeing because they are clouded by confirmation bias. This will most certainly have a chilling effect on real estate development even if not a major one in the short term. But it’s definitely a dangerous precedent for real estate developers in that market.

Speaking of RE, apparently a huge amount of commercial RE is about to come up for its new rate this year and, with the economy struggling like it has, the chances for companies to default on their loans are getting higher.

I wonder how many thousands of real estate developers and other businesses in the state of NY could be prosecuted for exactly what Trump was prosecuted for?

Thousands!
