Marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum has died aged 24, according to foreign media outlets.

Kiptum and his coach, Gervais Hakizimana, died in a traffic accident on Monday, Bizna Keyna reported.

Just last year, Kiptum shattered the men’s world record to win the Chicago Marathon in two hours and 35 seconds.

Incredibly sad. Prayers for his family.

This shite is just as disrespectful as the vax crazies. Act like an adult for once.

RIP to the young man.

Kipchoge's sub 2 hour run was assisted and not an official record.

This dude shattered kipchoge's actual record and likely would've eclipsed kipchoge as the goat distance runner.

Fuuuuuck that’s sad. He was going to push Kipchoge for GOAT status fairly quickly.

Just awful no matter what.

I pray there were no back room politics involved in the crash and it was simply operator error.

or, they're non-vaxxed (like me) who think blaming the Vax for a car wreck only makes anti-vaxxers look like absolute loons.
