I’d say old abandoned logging and 49er towns on west coast or old Route 66 towns that got bypassed by new i10&20 or some of those old iron country towns up north…

I see your Pahokee and I raise you South Bay, Canal Point, Belle Glade, and Clewiston.

The story behind the lead and zinc mining is equally sad. The tribes that owned the surrounding property. Movie killers of flower moon happened all the time

Pretty much any town between Vidalia and Monroe. One of the most depressing drives there is.

But, Eutaw Alabama is right up there, too.

I live 20 miles from Eutaw and I agree. Good hunting though.

Morgan city had near 20,000 people in 1985. Now it may have 8,000.
I have not seen this said yet, but I drove through Gary Indiana once and could not wait to GTFO of there….

Bogalousa or Bogaslavia as I like to call it. Place is a depressing shite hole with sky high crime for its size.

In Montana, probably Browning. Rez towns are rough as shite.

Never been to the ones out west, but the documentaries I’ve seen seem to put them in the Ferriday class.

I mean the majority of small towns in the south are depressing, much harder to find one that's not.

A certain or particular race ruins everything. I’m not racist but it’s a fact

Clewiston has 100 times more going on than Pahokee.

And South Bay at least has a big truck stop/service station.

Belle Glade has a hospital AND a golf course, so it's miles ahead of Pahokee.

But, yeah, the whole muck area is pretty bleak.
