Even better than 2019 football. That season was magical and overcame unbelievable odds.

2019 is the greatest sports team we've ever had. the record and schedule shows that.

It’s a lot harder to win a championship in baseball than football. It’s obvious you don’t follow baseball.

We don’t even know if it will be as good as last year’s baseball team.

He’s talking about last year’s team…

Oh you’re right I assumed he meant 2024 I should have read it better.

An argument can be made for it if that argument excludes 2019 football.
2019 is alone at the top.
Then there’s a huge gap.
Then we can start to reasonably rank 2023 baseball and other worthy contenders

How?
I'm football, 4 teams get in (soon to be 12)
In baseball, 64 teams do

There’s a lot of variance in baseball. There’s a reason the same group of teams make it and win a national championship in football. It doesn’t work like that in baseball. In football, the best team generally wins.
OP, it’s hard to compare seasons because the two sports are so different, but I think you have a legitimate point.

2019 GOAT Lsu football season
2023 GOAT Lsu baseball season
Both beat the best to claim NATTY'S so why not both.
Been the golden years of LSU sports recently now if we can Men's basketball back then its all gravy.

2009 Baseball was more accomplished than any of our other NC teams. Baseball has a very different rhythm than football but with that in mind I don't think we've ever had a Baseball team that matches the '19 football team.

I don't know if you can say best LSU season ever, but that entire CWS was amazing baseball. Even the loss to WF, although heartbreaking was a great baseball game. Then that entire week of edge of the seat wins over UT, WF, and then the UF finals was awesome.

Well, two thirds of it was awesome at least

You pretty much answered your own how question.
In football if you made the playoff you only had to win 2 games to win the national championship up until this upcoming season. In baseball you have to first win a regional, then win a super regional, then your half of the bracket in the CWS, and finally a best of 3 championship series. That's just extremely difficult to do no matter how good the team is.
That's why in baseball the best team usually doesn't win it all. It's whoever gets hot at the end of the season and who catches some good baseball fortune at the right times. In football usually the best team wins it all.
With all that said 2019 football was still the better season because it was the best college football season by any team ever.

The 2023 LSU baseball team was awesome in the NCAA tournametn and won a CWS that featured fantastic game after fantastic game. But it was also a team that didn't win the SEC regular season or tournament titles. The baseball equivalent of what 2019 football accomplished would be winning the SEC regular season and tournament titles, regional and super regional titles, and then the CWS. Add in a win total of 60 games, too.
The 2019 football team put together the best season ever in the sport. No other LSU season in any sport is close to saying the same thing.

Idk, didn’t the 2000 team sweep the post season? I guess it depends on what you mean by greatest.

Because it was easier in the 90s. Sport wasn’t as covered as it is today. And social media etc.

It's not even the best baseball season
