Curious how y’all would feel if we drafted someone like Brian Thomas or Odunze… I know we desperately need OL and DL, but we also need a WR to replace Mike Thomas… and added value of getting a good WR on a cheap rookie 5 year deal.

We need to replace a player that hasn't been on the field in 3 years with a first round pick? I'm trying to do the math here and it just doesn't seem to add up.

A lot of that would depend on how they address FA. Loomis still has a lot of contracts to restructure to get under the cap. But you also have the added complexity of needing to get rid of the malcontents to save DA's feelings. Also, historically, the team prefers to address "needs" in FA so they can go BPA in the draft.

So, with the current roster makeup, I'd much rather they address the lines in the 1st 2 rounds. But I also realize that it appears we cannot rely on Marrone to develop an OL player and when looking at the last several DL draft picks, was Breese pure luck? Maybe a CB or WR would be the better value.

No problem at all if they are the top guys on the board.

The Saints only have 3 WRs under contract for 2024 so it makes sense.

Would be surprised if a quality OL is available. WRs can typically be acquired in later rounds and our OL is an absolute mess.

If Daniels somehow slides you take him. Otherwise you gotta go BPA on either side of the line. Who cares about a WR if you don’t have time to get the ball to him?

I'd be pretty disappointed. Ramcyk is down, Penning wound up on the bench, and we get no pass rush from our D-Line.

Basically, Ray Charles and Helen Keller could see that we need help on both lines before we go big on anything like a WR.

If it were up to me I'd rather build OL first pick. They aren't moving Carr at this point so fire MT off in to the sun. Maybe draft a WR in a later round.

OT should be the priority on the offense.

But, if a player isn't available that fits the spot, then WR would be fine as far as offense goes.

We must get below the cap in a few weeks. How much money is left will determine how many holes we fill via FA's and thus what major needs if any must be addressed in the draft.

Never draft a 1st Rd WR even if your roster is completely void of any WRs.

With the apparent lack of OL coaching on the Saints staff, the team needs to pick OL players that originate from known great OL coaches at name brand colleges. The Saints are no longer able to polish diamonds in the rough.

Carr can’t hit anyone more than 10 yards down field with the D-Line in his face anyway

This is exactly what they should be drafting. The value is there where we are picking unless the Georgia te falls in our lap.

Only if It’s someone that’s electric with the ball in their hands.

This roster needs talent. I want them to pick the right players, regardless of position.

Ehh. I feel like there are better players at better positions at 14. If Nabors falls to us, then yes take him. If Coleman is there, I’d only take him if there isn’t a good OT or DE to take. If Bowers falls to us, then he’s absolutely a take.

OT & DE are the biggest needs. DT, S and WR are second level.

Saints need to shore up oline/DE asap. WRs can be had on the market/FA.
Sucks that we have spent so much draft capital on oline/dline lately, but we failed and we need to replenish.
