that's actually incredibly considerate.

i'm sure it's just a note on "stop sending them food and then send this instead" as a piece of script, but still a very kind gesture from a large company.

sorry for your loss on the pet.

How did they know you said goodbye to your pet?

That is a very nice and unexpected touch. I also am a customer of Chewy and have two 15 year old, nearly 16 year old dogs. How long have you been a member?

I am sorry for your loss. Dogs truly are your best friend. Seeing them go is always hard. When ready, I guarantee a new buddy will be waiting somewhere.

Chewy is a solid company

they went head to head against Amazon and won so that has to count for something.

I've heard from others that they do this. It's a great gesture.

That's a great gesture, but how did they know your pet died?

They also occasionally will send a painting of your pet, we got one 2 years ago of one of our cats with an order.

This post has made me consider using them. That is a stellar service to their customers.

Our vet sent us a handwritten card and flowers after we put our dog to sleep. Meant the world to us.

They’re a great company. Hope they continue to fend of Amazon.

Same .. It was actually a really touching gesture.. and we received the flowers within two hours of me calling to cancel the auto-renew food order… It shows that- while many people will dismiss a pet dying as “it’s just a dog” or similar- Chewy values the pet you lost as a part of your family, and the sadness that comes along with that .. Ive owned Chewy stock since many years before my dog died, and sure it helps the company with word of mouth just like we are seeing in this thread- but there’s nothing wrong with positive PR being the byproduct of doing something unexpected and nice IMO .

When you get a new pet they want you to keep ordering from them.
But you should. Very few companies care that much.

Did this for us as well when we canceled our auto subscription. A little bit of effort like that goes a long way in my opinion.

I was just extolling the virtues of Chewy on the I got a new puppy thread yesterday. Their customer service is excellent.

A few months ago there was a recall on the dog food I feed. They emailed me and ask me to call in. When I called they said there were giving me a refund on the 3 bags I had received that were under the recall, I told them I had already fed one and a half bags, they said it doesn't matter they were refunding all three. They also set me up so I could get 50% off 2 bags of another brand of food since the dogs had to eat something and my brand was off shelves for the near future.

They also have sales where they give $30 gift cards on $100 order fairly often.

They are simply a great company and know how to take care of pet owners with all the extra things they do.
