I guess what I am asking is what is the point of no return for a democrat candidate? When is last day they have to replace the fool for the dem nominee?

Tia. I am relatively new to in depth politics so I don't know the history nor precedent

The only way they could do it now, would be to claim he's too ill to run.

...and that's a good probability.

DNC made some rule changes that will allow them to name an alternative which I suspect will happen since neither Biden or Hillary actually won the required number of delegates to rightfully claim the nomination

If he dropped dead the DNC could swap him out probably up until a month before the election.

After that the ballots are printed and I don't see a way to correct that in time.

They could do it the day before and would not affect voting.

There are no rules for Democrats.

If Biden drops dead two days before the election, the Democrats will violate any and all rules standing in their way to install the next President.

They have tasted blood and the Republicans are puzzies who won't stop the coup.

They've put themselves in a bad position. If they replace him with Newsome, the party of DEI has to explain why they skipped over the VP, who was obviously appointed for all the boxes she checked, none of which were merit, and chose a white man.

I love it

If it were another party? Certainly by the convention.

With it being the Dems? They will Torricelli him between the convention and the main campaign to put their hand picked replacement in.

Don't worry about Biden dropping out.

Have a good conspiracy theory ready for when TFG drops dead from fatty plaque in his arteries.

They have until the convention.

He will drop before then. He was at a smoothie shop today and his decline is becoming more and more obvious.

Hell they could drop him at the convention and plug in a new crook.

Never.

We elected a dead guy to the senate in Missouri.

The courts will move Heaven and earth to insure any chance of Democrats at the Presidency

I think it would be best to let Joe win the primaries and then kick him to the curb - either due to illness, or legal issues surrounding Hunter.

At that point, the DNC can choose the candidate. They don't want the people choosing, because the people could choose wrong...

From a ballot stance, it's too late now. If Biden were to step down prior to their convention though, they could try to insert a new unelected candidate. After that, it would have to be Harris.

Most of the strategies have time limits. But let's say it's the day before the general. Polls indicate Biden will lose by a landslide. Declaring him 'too sick' ain't gonna cut it. Trump will be President.

However, if he suddenly drops dead the day before election there would be:
'CHAOS! CHAOS, I TELL YOU!' And there would be another election set.

Listen up! Joe Biden will NEVER get the nomination. Even the slick shell-game Democrats can't hide this one.

depends on each's states deadline to print ballots.....

Edit:

and they also have to allow time for the "HARVESTED" Ballots to be corrected to show the correct candidate. would look pretty bad to have stacks of ballots with Biden's name on them when he isnt a candidate......

They don't care about history or precedent unless they're using those against Republicans. They make up their rules as they go.

Ballot printing is their only limit.
