Lost all trust in my dealership that day.
The Service advisors and mechanics all make commissions. I don;t trust any of em further than I can throw em.

Maybe he got you confused with the owner of the other car. Give the guy a break.

Had some new tires installed, tech said I needed a new caliper on the driver side, no prob I do all the work myself so thanks for the heads up. Driving home I hear this scraping noise, and have some brake lights on. Get home to find the brake dust cover was bent to touch my rotor to make noise and my brake fluid res was low

On my last oil change, the technician brought my air filter to driver's window and says "Mr, I see you've declined an air filter every other time. However, management is monitoring us on camera and I must at least show you the filter." He held the filter up and didn't even wait for my response before reinstalling the filter.

Haven’t even opened my hood yet. Technician comes over to my window with an air filter, shows it to me and recommends that it be changed. I decline and watch him take the filter to the adjacent vehicle and reinstall it where he got it from.
So do you look incredibly stupid/retarded or something? No offense, but you just declining it sort of confirms it. How did you not die laughing and confirm that he was actually just making a joke? I'm not saying he was making a joke, but how was it not your reaction to say something about it as ridiculous as it was?
I would have asked and if he doubled down on it as serious, I would have backed out immediately. Edit to add that I would be skeptical as to whether they actually changed the oil or not at the end.

What place was it? Expose them. That's the only way this gets under control.
I get these places are going to try to upsell me. But showing me a part that isn't mine and trying to push me into replacing it? F all that.

They filter the used oil and resell it.

Upsells is how these quick oil change places make their money.
Employees earn an hourly wage and collect bonuses on the dollar amount of services sold.
Take it to the dealership for oil changes. If you have issues that arise post warranty, dealers and the automaker can pull up service history and provide assistance if needed.
If you diy oil changes make sure you keep receipts and note the mileage.

Well I do it, I don't try. So perhaps you are correct.
From a numbers perspective, I can change 6 quarts of full synthetic and filter for 40-50. That same oil change would be over 100 anywhere else, 200 at the dealer.

My truck has a lifetime power train warranty if I get the maintenence done at a dealership. I frickkin hate it.

I change my own oil but have the advantage of having a buddy that has a car lift. If I had to use an oil change place and they pulled this BS on me I would call the employee over, say goodbye, driver away and never bless them with my business again.

Thought there were laws against this.

I always change my own, on all 3 vehicles.
Mobil 1 full synthetic and a decent filter (not the cheapest) for about $40, vs not knowing what the hell someone else is going to do.
Takes little time or effort, and I can check everything out under the car while I am down there.
I do my own brakes, calipers, even did my coilovers recently

It won't charge in major cold weather so no maintenance.

Benny's does that all the time, upcharge for air filter, transmission flush, fan belt, fuel system cleaner, you name it.
Their bread and butter is car detailing. Next is oil changes which are no brainers. An extremely small number of people coming to Benny's will go there for the services you mentioned and will usually only add those on for pure convenience.
This isn't to say that they aren't overpriced.
