I have been hearing commercials on WJBO offering landlines (nothing more). Are they still used in many residential homes? I can't think of anyone I know who has one. I can't remember the last time I used a residential landline. Maybe 2014?

Is it just a retro push?

Is this an attempt to see how many people who never had one--or were to young to remember--want to own one?

Is the government about to fire rockets at our satellites?

What's up???

I have one that’s free. It’s weird though, people can call me but I can’t call them. Only number I can call is 911. Only reason I have it is cause cell service is sketchy where I live.

Got rid of it quite a while ago and haven't missed it.

Kept one for years after getting cell phones for emergency use.

Determined about 10-12years ago that it wasn't worth the $20/month. Plus all the messages were spam.

I don’t think so, for awhile it was part of a bundle and cheaper to have it. Never had a phone plugged in though. I may still technically have one

We are out in the boondocks and still have our land line. With outages in electric service, it still works and has come in handy. Our cell phone is ok but often the clarity is missing.

My parents still had one until they moved at the end of last year. They had the same number since the 1970s. Wish I could have snagged it and changed my cell to it.

Mom still has one and barely uses her cell (she’s 85). Her finger tips all pointing in different directions doesn’t help (rheumatoid arthritis).

Yes my parents do and they have an answering machine as well

Although I’ll call their cell phones first and then if I can’t reach them, I’ll call
The house phone

Until a year ago I had the landline on the old family place with the only number ever assigned. It was the original copper line too.

I was the 3rd generation to hold the number. If all my business and medical records could be easily updated I would have ditched my cell number for it.

Our early 1980s house still has the lines in them, but they likely don’t work anymore.

Of course, how else am I supposed to get extended warranty coverage on my car? Not to mention COVID-related help from the federal government for employees.

Get with it, man.
