here's the clincher Blind guy that could be a sniper by the end of the movie. Pure comedy by the end.
It's like they were seeing how absurd they could be before the audience says "enough".

No.
Wick is better, but Equalizer is good.
FYI, E3 is on Netflix. I enjoyed it.

The 2007 movie Shoot ‘em Up with Clive Owen was better than either but didn’t have the star power to garner sequels. It was just as action packed but had an actual story and a great villain played by Paul Giammati. Underrated flick.

it felt like Denzel was a little too God-mode for my liking. Like he had everything go off without a hitch over and over.
Question for the readers out there: Are the books written that way?
They may as well had a scene with him walking an old lady across the road, Boy Scout style.

Love the Denzel Movies...but this is always The Equalizer to me.

I can certainly see the OP's take. John Wick is practically his own genre; it's fun to watch, but it's really just tons of killshots all over the place. In the later movies, it gets more and more forced. His 1-on-1 scenes are still great, but there are times vs groups where some of the opponents are clearly waiting for him to finish with the first guy, before they engage and get killed... hell, just shoot him from 25 ft instead of running at him.

Do you even know what went into the scenes in John Wick movies?? Keanu literally trained in close quarters shooting and fighting. Those were REAL actions he was performing and real reloads etc.

Denzel couldn't hide his beer gut enough to make the fight scenes plausible.
Are you suggesting the John Wick fight scenes are in the realm of plausible? Both universes require you to suspend reality and just go with the flow.

Equalizer 3 is available on Netflix.
Most of the movie is Denzel hobbling around the streets of that town, or sitting down drinking tea at a cafe.
Yet, I enjoyed it for some reason. We don’t even get to see much of Superman. The action scenes are either skipped over and we only see the aftermath, or close-ups of the bad guys getting taken out by a super ninja just offscreen.

Equalizer 3 was awful. At no point was he threatened. He just kicked everyone’s arse all movie. He was essentially Superman on vacation in Italy.

I hated it. Was a completely pointless movie. I enjoyed The Equalizer a ton by the way.

Yeah it was a huge drop off from 1 and 2. Aside from that scene where the female CIA agent was on the gurney with her heavies bussin, she was pretty much useless. Will still watch a bad Denzel movie over most of the crap these days. Maybe they’ll return to form in the 4th movie.

I agree I enjoyed the equalizer movies better.

Have watched all of the Wicks. Actually finished first equalizer this week.
Enjoy both, will watch rest of equalizers. But they are very different for being so similar.
They both try to add in their brand of realism, and require a full suspension of belief in different ways. My guess is any preference for either would be because of someone's ability or desire to do that in the one that lent itself to one movie or the other.

The last three John wick movies are pretty good comedies.

Truth.
I tried to watch John Wick 4 and i just got bored of the neverending gun battles. The first one was good. The second one was ok. The 3rd was meh. The fourth is boring. I couldn't finish it.

Disagree, it’s entirely subjective.
After all the hype, I found the first John Wick just ok and was disappointed. I’ve increasingly loved the others though and consider it one of the best modern action franchises.
For me, I like world-building in my stories so going deeper into the lore of assassins and John’s history pulls me in. Not to mention the creativity in the action scenes. That overhead tracking shot through the building in 4 is an all timer.

John Wick 4 was so bad I started laughing during the movie. The fight scene involving going up the steps twice cracked me up. The blind superman was comical.

There's over the top and then there's John Wick over the top. Those bodyguards in Wick 4 made the stormtroopers look like sharpshooters.
