Other Cook and Wright he don’t have much to work with. To get this team to 2-0( I didn’t think we would win a SEC game) is amazing

This team plays hard and fast. They have great ball movement. They are relentless on defense… the only thing that is lacking right now is controlling the boards.

The season rises and falls with Cook. When he’s running the point it’s a completely different team.

Team has pretty decent size, athleticism and depth. Baker can get hot and be a pretty decent third scoring option on offense as well.

An extra elite guard/shot creator can go a long long way in college basketball. Cook makes a huge difference along with Wright’s emergence. We can basically run every possession through one of them, with an occasional dump into Baker in the post, and we’ll get a decent look. That’s three options we didn’t have last year

This team plays hard on D and just the addition of Cook makes them better than last year.

It's early to be admitting being wrong about anything though either way. The aTm was a great win and they did a good job taking care of business tonight, but we've had some bad losses too. However, this team looks to be more enjoyable to watch than last year and I hope they can keep improving. It's good to get some Ws!

well that’s dumb. sportsbooks had our O/U on conference wins at 9.5 at the beginning of this season.

sounds like you should admit all your basketball takes will be wrong

This team with Cook is way better than I would've thought. Still a mid SEC team at max but that way better than last year.

You were probably too down on this team. With that said, i think everyone may get too up on them before saturday. Think we got a rude awakening coming our way

Isn’t Vandy the worst team in the SEC?

When he loses 2 in a row y’all will be back to saying how much he sucks… typical bipolar LSU fans. I’m staying in the in over his head boat

It starts with effort. They are giving that. Then there is defense, and they are showing they can do that. We are very good at stealing the ball, which is something we have not seen in a while. Offensively, we are below average. Would love to see better sets on offense. We are trying to play fast paced on offense and that is leading to some ill-advised shots. But if you are building around grit and defense, you can do a lot of good things. We will struggle offensively this year against good talent but effort and defense will keep us in some games. Overall, this is a program trending up. Would love to see more fan and institutional support for these guys. They are a gritty group of players.

He does also have a solid freshman contributor in Mike Williams.

This team has played very well lately and MM has done a good coaching job so far.

Are we going to be seeing “OH YEAH WHERE ARE ALL THE IDIOTS WHO WANTED HIM FIRED” crowd next month, kind of like they did with Jayden Daniels acting like he was a world beater last year

Vandy is a team we should beat. aTm is a better win than ANY win we had last year. 2-0 feels nice but we're just getting started. Auburn is going to be a tough game. They are a hard team to beat on their home court.

Time will tell but as I've been saying from a pure talent perspective this team is better than last year. Unfortunately that's not saying much since we only had 2 wins, but improvement is improvement.

My hope for this year is an NIT berth..

I'm pulling for the guy, I really am. What I said all of last year was both things can be true at the same time, the talent not being great and that collection of talent still underachieving. That's what I think we saw last year.

To what degree one would want to put that on the head coach if true is up to them, for me .....he's the head coach so IMHO that percentage would be high.

Cook obviously makes a difference but it wasn't Cook that won us the A&M game it was the out of nowhere, all of a sudden, we found a way to rebound the ball.

I still have concerns re: overall development and individual improvement with certain players, but that A&M game and the rebounding was the type of improvement, at least in one area, that I've been waiting an hoping for since he's been here.

And I hope that spreads to other areas as this year continues.
