Which I think is complete bullshite.

Now chowing down on Fido isn't my idea of fine dining but what the frick man? What's so special about a dog that it can't be farm raised and eaten?

shite, frickin' Eskimos eat whale blubber. Japanese hunt and eat dolphins and the French eat horses. Why take a dog off the table?

This kinda bullshite right here happens when we assign human qualities to animals. There's absolutely nothing wrong with eating dogs.

i guess it depends on how cute an animal has to be before you care if it dies to feed you.

Very true. Kinda like how Hindus look at us for eating cow or how the rest of the country looks at us for eating the food we eat in south la.

I’ve killed a thousand cows.

And then I killed that one dog …

Am I known as Bjorn the Cow Killer?

No.

Have you eaten dog before? Sounds like people just aren’t liking it as much.

Growing up, we had a great Chow Chow, then some family came to visit and he disappeared. As an adult, I wonder what the real story is.

You don’t actually believe this you’re just stirring up shite. If you did think this way you wouldn’t have put forth the effort you did to help that guy find his dog in one of the best threads I’ve ever seen. Shame on you for attention whoring now go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve done.

it is an interesting question. i am not for or against in either direction as long as the practices are humane and ethical.

in my theory, i think a part of it is our evolutionary pact/bargain with the dog.

We have no problem raising, slaughtering, and consuming swine which have been shown to be at and equal if not higher emotional and intelligence level of dogs. They also are quite personable and cute. However, we have never had that pact.

Humans and ancient dog/wolf made a pact. Dog provides security as a guard and is a hunting companion, and human provides safe spot/home/shelter and help acquiring sustainable food sources. it was a mutual beneficial agreement. i think that is still hard ingrained in us so much so that deep down humans look as dogs as partners in a certain sense.

we see similar thing in other species. General, most societies frown on eating cat. We have a pact with them evolutionarily. We provide them safe spaces and they provide vermin control.

Yeah and the first group is essentially extinct, the second group likes tentacle porn, and the third group are homosexuals.

If the dogs are raised and treated humanely, sure. Go ahead and eat them if that's your thing. Pretty sure a big part of the dog meat thing is making sure they suffer as much as possible when killing them. It's a belief over there that this enhances the flavor of the meat. If I had to guess that's one of the reasons they are banning the trade of it.

Any dog that isn't wearing a t shirt over there is considered fair game.

I watched a documentary and it was sickening seeing all these nice breeds of dogs in cages to be killed in horrific measures to be meat.

Lets round up the pit bulls and send to Asia

So long as I don't ever have to see it happening or hear it about other than a post like this, I'm fine with it.

I will say however, I can watch clips of pretty much anything on the internet and not be bothered. But the one video I saw a few years back about that nasty arse open market in Wuhan China (or wherever), had a booth/table/whatever with skinned dogs for sale. I have to say, that shite fricked me up for a bit.
