Been to vermont. Spent a few years there. Vermont has 4 seasons. Winter, Winter, Mud and Autumn.

Not so sure about that, but it is definitely the tick capital of the world.

Ever been to Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont? Those places will change your mind. They even have their own tick disease, Lyme.

when do the lakes freeze over?

A lake has to freeze over for the area to be proclaimed as having winter? Does Kentucky need 60 consecutive days of 90 plus temps to have summer?

dude you have more winter but less summer. How cold is the water when you swim in summer?

Arkansas seasons are more balanced. Northern US has more winter, Southern Us has more summer. This is not a hard concept.

seems like a minimum benchmark to me

I live in south Louisiana so it’s not cold at all.

But, the lakes I grew up swimming in were not cold at all in the summer. The Great Lakes were always pretty cold though.

hence not as much summer but they do have more winter

Arkansas has warm lake temps in summer and sledding in winter. That qualifies. Add in leaf change and dogwoods/daffodils and you have all 4 seasons.

I remember it snowed almost two feet of snow in Bella Vista back in 2011. It also got down to -15 degrees.

Then the next summer, one of the hottest summers that I can remember. It got up to 112 one day.

In the next ten years, northwest Arkansas will be overrun by Californians and New Yorkers who can't afford Colorado.

Southern Arkansas is a shithole like north Louisiana.

They avoid humans unless they are starving but Arkansas has plenty of deer for them to eat.

NWA has always been on my “Would move there tomorrow, no questions asked” list. Love it there.

Also, President Clinton helped steal most of I-69's route out of Louisiana to give to Arkansas, but they have done almost no work on it in the 30 years since.
it was always wild to me of seeing that huge stretch of wipes out trees with no highway on it out around crossett (or north of there can’t remember the exact spot now)

ETA: guess it was Monticello

I think so. Hiking the Buffalo River trail after floating the river, Hot Springs, hiking the Eagle Rock Loop, floating the Caddo River, hiking the Ozark Highland trail, world famous tiller races in Emerson.

The Wu Flu drove people into the woods and there’s more trash on the trails now. If you pack it in pack it out!!!
