It all ended after the NBA on NBC lost the rights.

Sure. The game of basketball takes skill. The way it is officiated makes a shitty product. If you like no contact and touch fouls, basketball is for you.

The sport sucks to watch.

Really has not been the same since Scottie Pippen had to inform Karl Malone that the mail does not come on Sunday.

Nobody I know in Youngsville watches the NBA and that's a perfect cross section of Americans.

My earliest memories were of the early 70' and I love Wilt Chamberlain and became a Laker fan when he and Jerry West and Gail Goodrich played. And I loved the game then watched Pete play for the Hawks and later the Jazz.

But the game was not very popular then for most of America - in fact in the late 70's they were showing the playoffs and title game on tape delay if it was a weeknight - fact - you can look that up.

They always mentioned that when bringing up how Magic and Bird took the NBA to knew heights when they arrived.

The sport of basketball just kind of sucks in general. Touch fouls leading to 40 free throws a game.

It’s not a good product and it’s very hard to watch.

I agree with this. Basketball is a rather ridiculous sport / game. Far inferior to football / baseball / golf / tennis and even soccer or hockey

This, along with the fact that 75% or more of regular season games the players don’t give 100%. They’re either “resting” or being lazy which leads to the majority of games being non-competitive, blow outs.

Oh… and then you mix in the NBA constantly force feeding the viewers one-sided politics. Yea the NBA sucks.

I was there lol - oh what a time.

Final answer: 2016. Feels like touch fouls have just taken off even more since then.

The worst eta of the NBA was from 89 to 98.

Expansion watered down the league before global expansion caught up.

Dream team started a global phenomenon that paid dividends 10 to 15 years later.

But in the 90’s the NBA was at its lowest point since the early 60’s. Todays game is much better than the 90’s.

NBA started getting good again when Steve Nash joined the Phoenix Suns in 2004… the league was shitty on offense for the 10 years prior to that, starting with the Rockets-Knicks 1994 NBA Finals.

The worst iso ball team ever was the Rockets when they had Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, and those awful pinstripes

I watched some through the Bird/Magic era and the Pippin/Jordan time but quit watching after that. Lost interest.

The 80s.

Boston vs. Lakers.

Bird vs. Magic.
