Kalen DeBoer is going to be a hot commodity this offseason

He's won at every stop and if he wins a Natty or not the big boys will come calling if any major jobs open up.

It'll be interesting to see if WA spends the money for not just him but his staff. A lot of those coaches have been with him for years

yea, him and his OC have been a package since NAIA

There's rumors he's already signed about a 7 year $70M deal to stay with UW. Until it's announced though, I will be nervous.

Not sure Washington is a job you need to leave. Younger people probably don't remember how good UW was under Don James.

What coaching job will become available this offseason?

Now that they are in the B10 they can compete financially with almost anyone, if they want to.

Not only that but Seattle is not exactly the worst place in the world to live

Washington should pay him whatever he wants. They will have a big influx of cash with the move to the Big 10 to afford it.

The fact that you mention it as a reminder is a reason why it is a job you could leave. I agree i wouldn't leave if i were him.

They don't get a full Big10 distribution until 2030. They'll find the money to pay him whatever he wants, but having to take a partial share is a bigger deal for UW than it is for Oregon.

If i'm Seahawks owner, i'm gracefully telling Pete Carrol its time to retire and make the move on Kalen.

I mean, the only job that might come open right now is Michigan and I doubt he leaves

Then why would he need to leave Washington? He will have proven he can get to the top of the mountain there. I'm sure Washington will pay him well...even if it may not be as much as a "big" program would be willing to pay. And he won't have to live under the pressure of crushing expectations at one of the football crazy schools.
Gone are the days that only SEC schools, as well as a few Big 12 and Big 10 schools would pay significantly higher than everyone else. He can live a VERY comfortable life in Seattle instead of getting $1M - $2M extra to coach a (currently) weaker program with higher expectations.

If what they're paying their OC is any indication, they will.
They paid him $2m a year and kept him away from Bama last year.

He's always been on the West Coast/Pacific NW as a Coach.
..with Washington going to the B1G, I think he stays at UW, especially if they can get a W next week.
Next stop for him is probably an NFL gig: Seattle/LA Chargers.

Most of his coaching career has been in the midwest. Same with Grubb.

He might win the natty at Washington. He's at a "big boy."
