Zero RB strategy worked this year.

Had the 11th pick in a 12 team PPR league. Went Diggs, Lamb, Cooper, L. Jackson with my first 4 picks and they were the only 4 remaining draftees on my team at seasons end. Had a ho hum regular season and made the playoffs as the 3 seed at 9-5. Rode those 4 players to the championship with some help from Jerome Ford and Trey McBride who were picked up along the way.

Agree. Had pick 6 of 10. Took Tyreke, Garrett Wilson, Lamar then Etienne. Won the sip but what could have been had Aaron Rogers stayed healthy.

I had like pick 2 or 4. Selected McCaffery. People were staying away because of injury. Also took Mongomery from Detroit who was solid for me all year.

Zero a lot of things worked this year
A ton of new names popped up as top 15 options on the year
So many injuries and a lot of weird production from teams you didn’t expect while some blue chips massively underperformed.
ETA: I went ZRB this year. Didn’t even start Chase. Olave, though productive most weeks lately, didn’t do shite Wk17. Interesting year altogether.

My first 4 picks this year were similar. Had the 12th pick. Went Lamb, AJ Brown at 12/13 and then Mark Andrews, Burrow as 3rd and 4th round selections.
Drafted Pacheco in 6th round. Picked up Kyren Williams and Jerome Ford in back to back weeks. Picked up Achane too. Likely was picked up bc Schultz was injured. Very glad for that pickup.
Stafford was the QB pickup along with Goff after Burrow went down.

Same.
This is the way to go. Grab as many top WRs as you can IMO.

Got great value with Kyren. Picking up Ford and Achane helped. Had Kamara at a value.
Just need to hit on a few of these guys. Sometimes easier said than done, but it was better than busting on top RB picks.

I won my league by drafting mostert, Mixon, Brian Robinson and Conner. None were high picks or sexy names, but they're all #1 guys for their team and stayed relatively healthy.

Hit gold in my dynasty with Rice at pick 11 and Puka as an udfa, Warren was a solid RB2
In my redraft league I somehow won it drafting Kupp fourth overall, oops. R White ASB and Aiyuk carried my team

See and I drafted CMC, Mixon, and Rachaad White early then rode them to a championship.
Receivers ended up being Mike Evans and a mix of Chris Olave/DJ Moore.
Different ways to do it

Any strategy works in a given year, it’s one of the dumber things fantasy “experts” push

Has been around a lot longer than one year. I've had way, way more success doing Zero RB or Hero RB than any other strategy out there. It's just a statistical fact, proven from heavy analytical guys like JJ Zachariason, Chris Harris, the ETR guys, that it' just typically easier to find top tier RB production with later picks or through waiver moves than it is to find top tier WR production using the same method.
Sure, you can have some outliers like Puka, Mike Evans, Michael Pittman, Courtland Sutton, but that's only 4-5 guys. The RB guys you found in later rounds or waivers probably doubled that number. I won both of my leagues this year and I didn't take a RB before the 5th round and 6th round respectively.

Hero RB
Haven't heard of that one. I assume that's like taking one stud RB early, then going 0-RB after that?
I feel like that could work pretty well. Take a McCaffery or Saquon early on as your foundation, load up on WRs in rounds 2-whatever, then you just gotta hit on one decent RB to emerge as your RB2. That seems more feasible than trying to find 2+ RBs later on

Essentially yes. It probably didn’t work out that well for people this year but it will probably be viable next year. It’s hard to imagine CMC, Hall (with Rodgers back), Kyren busting.
Those are the only RBs im touching in the first round next year unless Bijan has a new coach.

Yes and no.
It worked if you took any running back other than CMC.
58.9% of the teams that made the championship on ESPN had CMC. Kyren Williams was second at 40%.
I tend to go Hero RB, one RB1 and then a top TE and WR heavy for the top six or seven rounds.
I’ll probably adjust next year and take a TE in six or seven and hit RB, WR the first five.

Hero RB will likely be the better strategy next year. I went zero RB this year but next year, personally, it will be really hard to pass on CMC, Kyren or Breece if I can’t grab Tyreek, JJ, ASB or Lamb. You can throw Chase in there too if Higgins leaves. I don’t really want to touch Gibbs or Bijan. Gibbs because of Monty and Bijan because of Arthur Smith.
JT is great but he’s still a bit unknown with Richardson and he’s certainly going to get some rushing TDs. Saquon scares the shite out of me both because of his injury history and the Giants just being pathetic. ETN was so up and down this year that I just can’t justify him. I’m sure others can. Cook very similar + Goal line TD issues. Achane is so small and already dealt with a list of injuries + Wilson and Mostert. White was an absolute stud this year but I’d rather not hitch my wagon to Baker and the Bucs 2 years in a row, at least not in the first 2 rounds
