I think the finish is breaking down. Anyone have this issue? I think I will send it back to Browning after hunting season.

I know a few people that had the same problem with browning shotguns. I’m pretty sure browning fixed the problem.

There’s a recall link somewhere on the website. I mailed my rifle in and they replaced the stock and sent it back.

I was at a local gun store a few weeks ago and they were packing up a browning shotgun to send back for the same issue.

yeah had the issue on my Maxus and sent it back. Like new.

My X bolt doing the same. I don't use it enough to bother me, but I'll probably send it back at some point.

Browning has good customer service regarding this issue.

I had a a similar problem with a Sako and they wouldn’t do shite. Ended up buying a new stock and fixed the problem.

My wife’s browning did the same. It is currently getting replaced now, been about 3 weeks so far. Get online and fill out the form they will email you a shipping label.

Same happened with my Sako, ended up getting the coating off with rubbing alcohol and a scotch brite and then repainting it with a rattle can.

Has the same issue with my Maxus. Pretty straightforward process to ship the gun and get it back.

My brother has a remington sps with the same problem. I think all the manufacturers used that rubber shite that melts.

I don’t understand why a 3 year old rifle would have this problem, browning and all the gun manufacturers have known about the duracoat issue for a long time and have been exchanging the stocks for well over 3 years, why would they continue to put these guns on the shelves

I sent my Maxius in last year and they returned with new furniture in about a month

A5 coating has same problem. Spots I hold regularly, forearm and grip are starting to come off pretty bad. Thought it was OFF on my hands causing the problem until I read about all the other people having same problem. Butt stock crumbled to bits as well.

Happened to my CVA apex that is about 10 years old. I just washed the sticky off with acetone.
