If his deal is 9 million guaranteed, he is being overpaid. I don’t blame him for going if he can get it. LSU will be just fine finding a really good OC that fits with the offense LSU plays. Notre Dame is desperate to win a NC again, but you don’t have to overcompensate to get quality for that position.

many ND fans accuse LSU of this exact thing in its contract with Kelly.
Give it a rest.
LSU has money to compete with ND in football.

If it’s 5 years at 1.8 million a year that’s really not that bad for a proven coordinator.

LSU paid Pelini 2.3 million a year. Now that sounds desperate with money to burn.

If it's 9 Mil guaranteed, what does that mean if he is fired in a year or two?

It looks fine in 5 years, it is a risk right now.

I hope they have a Heisman caliber QB and 2 Biletnikoff worthy WRs too.

You saw what they did to Hartman. The guy:

quote:

Hartman finished his time at Wake Forest as the record holder for career passing attempts, completions, yards, and touchdowns while also having the most touchdown passes (110) and second-most passing yards in conference history (12,967); his total passing yards also ranks top 20 in FBS history.[1] He ranks top three in the ACC for touchdown passes, career completions, passing attempts, and passing yards and also is top-25 all-time in FBS history for touchdown passes and passing yards.[1] Additionally, Hartman holds single-season Wake Forest records for passing touchdowns, yards per game, total yards, total touchdowns, and passing yards, and is the all-time ACC leader with 21 career 300-yard passing games.

And in 1 regular season at ND, his entire career, name, and legendary status was completely ruined and tarnished. Damn shame what they did to that kid…

Perhaps they need to consult with Texas A&M

big difference in giving a head coach that kind of money compared to a position coach, if ND fans can't understand that they are not as smart as they think they are...

If Hartman had just stayed at Wake Forest he’s an early day 2 pick. Maybe not a 1st but he would have been taken by someone in the 2nd round.

He’s obviously a good OC, but does he have a Heisman contending(eventually winning) dual threat QB, 2 first round WRs(plus a 500yrd 7TD 3rd) one of the top Olines in the country and a stable of RBs that carry the load when needed?

If I was ND and he doesn’t have similar players, he’s going to have to give me a year of production before I guarantee any amount that high.

Ding ding ding our coach can't recruit or develop QBs (as proof at ND). I worry Freeman won't have the same problem. WR, we have then smoked. But again, hope BK can bring new studs in. We can laugh at ND all we want, but our coach was the leader of them and the person responsible for bringing in talent...and he didn't. So in making fun of them, we are making fun of our fearless BBQ eating Southern twang speaking coach. Just saying.

Pretty sure BK left you retards at 11-1 (before your golden child shite the bed against ok state)

You've since soiled that reputation with freeman.

on the other hand, BK came into our program after a sub .500 season and brought us back to back 10 win seasons with a heisman winner.

It must be tough crying yourself to sleep every night knowing not only do you root for a subpar program, but you live in south bend, indiana....woof

Let them pay the man what he thinks they’re worth. The money isn’t going to the players.

You realize Denbrock isn't making anything close to what Brian Kelly is making right?
