Yeah, I wouldn’t say it was botched. Same with 1972 men’s basketball.

These went exactly according to plan, they were just truly corrupt.

Alabama over Oklahoma State (biggest offender by far)

So how bad does Oklahoma State beat LSU?

Did it? Wasn't Bama leading? Our offense was lethargic the whole game. I agree that it killed whatever momentum we were trying to create, and that it was a bad call, but I don't know that it turned the tide of the game.

????

If the Undertaker never loses, no one gets the rub from ending his streak

And if someone had to beat him, Brock was a good candidate for it… whom should it have been?

ETA: turned the tide of that game. LSU would’ve been in the driver’s seat for the SEC-W which would’ve kept Alabama from winning their first national title under Saban that year. Who knows how the trajectory going forward would’ve been impacted without Saban winning a natty in year 3

Cajuns are in love with the idea that was the difference in that game. The reality was that BAMA completely outplayed LSU in the 2nd half.

Stats:
BAMA - 452 total
LSU - 253 total

BAMA - 24 1st downs
LSU - 13 1st downs

4th quarter points:
BAMA - 14
LSU - 0

The reality was that if Peterson got the INT, LSU wasn't driving the field that day. BAMA defense shut the water completely off in the 4th quarter.

Watch that play again in real time. It was clean defending despite what the low iq fans want to think.

That was a laughably bad decision by the refs but i don’t think we win. Offense was out of ideas. Losing Charles Scott to a broken ankle hurt too.

LSU would've gotten the ball at midfield down 6 with 5 minutes to play.

That, and Peterson having to come out because of a cramp (which happened multiple times throughout the year because he didn't know he was a type 1 diabetic at the time) which resulted in a 1 play, 75 yard Julio TD, are why Alabama won that game.

Peterson had Julio in prison all night. I think he had 2 catches for like 17 yards while Peterson was guarding him.

I'm all for PP7 being robbed, but to think that play is even close to the others mentioned is silly. Our offense was absolutely garbage and it's doubtful we even get a FG let alone a TD.

The call was absolutely wrong, but Les Miles lost that game not the refs.

That might have been the worst call I have ever seen in the age of instant replay. They reviewed it and still gave the ball to Oregon despite the following:
I was a freshman that year
17 years later I'm still melting over that.

What usually doesn't get brought up with this call is that OU would have been 12-1 without that call and potentially in the Ohio St, Michigan, Florida conversation.

(Of course the Boise St happened that year, so it wouldn't have been deserving)

There’s a call in the 1985 World Series around game 6 that should have lead to the Cardinals winning the series.

Instead, the Cards lost and had a total meltdown in game 7, leading to a Royals win.
