Oklahoma Oregon onside kick(s)

this is still one of the most ridiculous things that had such a butterfly effect

the officials on field and replay officials basically ignored direct evidence for two game changing calls (onside kick and tipped pass on PI next possession)

on the onside kick they botched two different parts, the illegal touching and the recovery…how refs can award a team the ball without every seeing the ball is truly levels of frickery that can’t even be comprehended.

This cost Oklahoma a chance at title game and put them in THE game vs Boise State that went down in history

The Eagles drafting Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. That decision still pisses me off to this day

FSU CFP this season

Why did you put FSU but not UCF 2017?

They’re clearly similar.
-mid major conference
-Florida teams
-undefeated regular season
-inferiority complex toward the SEC

NOLA No Call is the worst decision by a referee I have ever seen considering the obviousness of the call and the magnitude of the situation.

Not sure if you’re serious there.

USA vs USSR 1972 Basketball

This one!!!

Former Gamecock Kevin Joyce was on that team....frustrating. Also maybe the most chaotic olympics ever. USA v Russia in that, the mass shooting, the germans trying to repair their image while hosting

Oklahoma Oregon onside kick

That might have been the worst call I have ever seen in the age of instant replay. They reviewed it and still gave the ball to Oregon despite the following:

1) Oregon clearly touched the ball first, prior to going 10 yards
2) Oklahoma clearly recovered the football

I can not emphasize how OBVIOUS it was that these two things happened. On the replay you can clearly see the ball rolling free under the pile and an Oklahoma player scooping it up on the back end and strutting around with it in his hand.

Somehow the refs gave the ball to Oregon without seeing who had the football.

All of this...but I was there...they showed no replays on the jumbotron...no one knew there was a screwjob going on until people got home..and Oklahoma still had a great chance to win with a great last minute kick return and had a very makeable FG...but Oregon blocked it.

Oklahoma fans were great and gracious after the game...because they had no idea either. No one in the stadium knew the details of that onside scramble for the ball....just assumed the Oklahoma player walking around with the ball had stolen it after the fact.

Colorado's 5th down was pretty eggregious and it was very consequential to the national title.

And as far as "botched" decision, Pete Carroll...twice.

The Super Bowl, not giving it to Beastmode at the goal line and not having the Heisman trophy winner on the field (even as a decoy) on 4th and 2 against Texas in the Rose Bowl.

That no call in the NFCCG still pisses me off when i think about it. It is the definition of corruption.

I'm still a fan, but a big part of me lost faith completely in sports as an entity of integrity.

It definitely changed my mental investment in the Saints and NFL

The same thing that happened before G-Mac threw the ball. The BAMA offense moved the ball and the defense said NO.

That didn't answer the question in the least.

Play happened at 5:54 left at the 40 (around the 30 where Peterson would have intercepted it)

Bama ran 3 minutes off the clock and kicked the FG to ice the game.

So LSU would have gotten the ball back down 6 with a chance to win. They may not have but to act like this wouldn't have mattered is very homer of you

You can make a case that the lack of a call isn’t as egregious as Saint’s fans make it out to be.

The closest referee is on the midfield side of the play. It’s possible that from his angle, the ball and contact happens simultaneously. Without a direct shot with referee, contact, and ball all in a straight line, can’t tell. Same can be said from the back judge’s angle. The pic posted that all Saints fans point out, does not paint a clear picture of PI. If the ball is past the play, contact can be made.

I do think PI should have been called. But I don’t think it’s as bad of a blown call as Saints fans think.

Depth perception is a thing that is real. You should try it. No matter the angle, there was enough space between the ball and the players to where anyone with half a brain can decipher that the ball never touched a player.

Don Denkinger. 9th inning of 1985 World Series game 6.

That was the tying run, who later scored along with the winning run.
