LSU basketball needs a new PMAC and a new coach. This sleepy arse, unexciting, losing style of play we have now in an outdated arena is a fan killer.
Not sure how long Kim will coach, but as of now, she’s the only coach with the kahunas to try and do something about the facilities.

Wade wouldn’t have any better record without a PG. If cook is allowed to play the rest of the year this team will be very competitive. Whether that will turn into wins is the question but the TX game was winnable but the refs nipped that in the bud in a 2 minute span. Dean needs to start over Baker and Fountain over Reed. Wright will be able to concentrate on scoring with Cook running point now. He makes the entire team better.

We were down by 19 at half. If McMahon is as bad a coach as everyone says we should have lost by 30 - 40 points. Yet we came back and were only down 9 with around 4 minutes left before the 4 fouls / technical and questionable jump ball killed the run. On the road aganst #19. Team played hard, ran multiple defenses and dominated offensive boards. But none of that is coaching? Let’s see what happens going forward with Cook at point. Definitely going to be a better team.

LSU bitched out and like a bunch of pussies fired Wade instead of letting the smoke settle….much like the number 2 team in the country did!!!
the fact that no one but McNese wanted to hire Wade proved LSU did the right thing.
Did they hire the wrong coach? maybe.
Doesn't change the fact Wade had to be fired

I was a Wade fan. He was a good coach but not great. He was a great recruiter. But incessant non stop bashing of this coach and this team is way old. He gets 3 years period. If he’s still struggling after 3 years then there’s an argument to replace him. The idiots need to understand that. He ain’t going anywhere especially with the commitments he has for next year.

Dammit, I swear to god we live in such a shite time where people will willfully ignore FACTS. The program is on probation - All of the Wade love is idiotic. He was a mediocre coach that never achieved the success he should have with the teams he had, hell of a recruiter but not a good coach.

Three years is just delaying the inevitable and making it tougher to recover from.
He is not the one.

Wade wasn't even the best xs and os coach, but he's proven to be a lot better than McMahon. This is blatantly false. Cook does nothing to help the fact that our perimeter defense is abysmal and doesn't help the fact that we suck at rebounding.
I think Cook is a very good player but I think even without him this team SHOULD have been a decently competitive SEC team. Not having a true PG wasn't our only problem, and a good enough coach would figure something out. Our ball handlers were not so bad as to not have any offense whatsoever. Even then, our offense isn't even that bad. As Alt26 has stated multiple times, we usually have a higher FG% than the other team, but still lose because we take less shots. That is because of giving up offensive rebounding and not defending three pointers. Cook doesn't help with either of those.

Average tRant user could tell you this but it takes a coach that gets paid 2 mil a year 5 OOC losses to figure this out.
Promise if Wade was the coach with this roster he'd have been starting them from day 1.

I'm gonna keep it real. I don't even care about MBB until whatever this rebuild is supposed to be is done.
Posted on 12/17/23 at 12:52 pm to gsvar2004
bullshite. McMahon was unable to keep the team together and lost the 4 and 5 star recruits that were committed to Wade.
Posted on 12/17/23 at 12:52 pm to gsvar2004
It’s a total rebuild but McBasement is also a poor coach from what I have seen. We lack talent but the turnovers are correctable as are his moronic player groupings. Why he continues to Jack with the substitutions in ways that make absolutely no sense is beyond me. Our defense is crap which is a want to issue. He isn’t getting everything out of the players he has recruited which is a big problem.

how many more years til we’re not a bottom dweller is acceptable? 1,2,3,5?

Lol outside of the waters years, Wade never had a true point guard either. That’s a crap excuse.

I do agree that not having a "true PG" is a bad excuse, but it's blatantly false that Wade had no PGs.
Skylar Mays, Javonta Smart, Xavier Pinson, etc.. they were all PGs. Wade himself was a PG coach too.

If moral victories counted McMahon would be a #1 seed
LSU NEVER had the lead at any point in the game. They trailed by double-digits for 80% or so of the game. But for a couple of garbage time 3’s at the end this is a 14-17 point loss. The 15th loss (of 21) to a major conference opponent by 10+ points.
Yet, fans are somehow supposed to be encouraged because LSU only lost by 11 instead of 30? There could not be a better microcosm of the state of the program. CELEBRATING 11 point losses because it wasn’t as bad as usual. Maybe TJ Ribs should start giving away a free order of onion rings every time LSU loses by less than 10.
And the band played on…

Mediocre coaches dont have teams that lead the country in offensive efficiency multiple times.

quote:Without the portal we wouldn't have had the exodus after Wade was fired. That works both ways and there simply isn't enough talent sitting around in April to lure to a team with zero players and an NOA.
With NIL and the portal, a program like LSU should never have talent problems at all.
People who claim otherwise are idiots.

You think these kids give a shite about NOA? They only care about the N B A. And with nil they care about how much money they can make over the shortest possible time before they can get there. Kids don’t give a shite about winning championships or the program any more ESPECIALLY in MBB

quote:Cook will help with rebounding. At times Williams seemed allergic to rebounding, almost never dropping down to help or putting a body on someone. Cook doesn't have those issues, at least in the first game.
Cook does nothing to help the fact that our perimeter defense is abysmal and doesn't help the fact that we suck at rebounding.
Also Cook will help cut down on turnovers. I was fearful of running into full court presses in the SEC, and while that is largely a team effort, Cook has experience and speed.
