4/5 starters scored a total of 4 points!! Other stats!!

How is that possible and have you ever seen such poor production from a power 5 team's starting lineup!

M Williams 1 point
M Wilkinson 0 point
J Reed 2 points
W Baker 1 point

Combined 1/10 FG
0/4 3pt
Rebounds 6
Fouls committed 7
Assists 0
Turnovers 9
Also former starter C Stewart was a DNP

Changes need to be made NOW!!!

Baker with 1 point is an absolute joke.

Dean should play over Baker...Baker is too slow. Cook will help this team if he stays eligible.

Not starting cook was a mistake but I don't expect that to happen from here on out lol.

Starters were out manned. Wright had a great 2nd half and Texas cruised to an easy win.

Brilliant coach. Do you think they wouldn't start Cook in the next game without your brilliant analysis?

Everyone thought Baker was going to be Dirk after the first game.

Honestly he needs to come off the bench. He gets in foul trouble too easy. Dean plays harder and I think has earned taking his spot

Swap Baker for Dean
Cook for Williams

I don't want to say anything bad about Wilkinson but man he just provides nothing

Starting five should be

Cook
Wright
Reid
Ward
Dean

That gives you length/rebounding capabilities and maximizes your scoring.

Cook helped but lack of assisted baskets have been an issue all season long

Stop running half court all the time and let the kids play. Put down the clipboard and run plays when flow leaves, then go creative again. Played the best today when players did not go half court

This was probably Williams’s last start.

Wilkinson is there for defense and rebounding. You’re not counting on him for many points.

Baker is not a major conference starter…which is why he left Texas in the first place.

Reed plays every game like he’s in an AAU tournament where no one plays with great effort or organization.

Just about all of Wade’s elite offensive teams had very low assist to made FG ratios. Outside of the FT (which HAS been an issue all season, the offense wasn’t the problem). Even the TOs and defensive rebounding weren’t killers like they usually are. LSU just played absolutely terrible defense. There was no way LSU was ever going to catch Texas because LSU couldn’t stop Texas from scoring

Turnovers have been the culprit all season, this team commits too many unforced TOs which lead to empty possessions. They play good defense and get a couple back to back stops and turnover ball on those possessions

So IMO you go with Cook, Wright, Ward, Collins and Dean when healthy to start. Play more extended defenses and up tempo then you come with Hannibal, Williams, Wilk, Fountain/Reed, Baker and run your half court stuff against the backups. You should be able to beat middle and lower SEC teams with your depth and maybe steal 1 or two if Cook, Wright or Ward has a big game, maybe even if Baker can tip the balance on the second unit in some games.

Imo starting five should be Cook, Ward, Wright, Fountain, Dean.

Collins is solid but I think fountain is the better player; he’s solid on defense, a good rebounder, and is better at dropping the ball than Collins. Outside of Cook, Fountain is the best offensive player. Very well rounded and underrated skill set imo. Collins should play over Reed tho imo.

I’ve been preaching the Hunter Dean truth and I’m glad that he finally had a good performance that shows his skill set. The massive amounts of downvotes and hate he received never stopped me believing in him.

Agree with your lineup too, i think your front court starters should solely depend on how they mesh with those 3 perimeter guys. I think you play your half court game with the reserves and use your depth and multiple looks to try and win games.

Baker isn't a good player. Worst defensive big I've ever seen, very soft, and has 1 good offensive game every 5-6 games. He ain't it.
