Can you imagine the state of LSU basketball once Mulkey retires.
They could donate the PMAC as a homeless shelter. It will be vacant.

That was fouls.

The score was a blistering 37-26 or something like that.

What was out of touch was Wade following the rules.

Because all the other coaches follow the rules, right Cinderella????

I imagine you kinda like coach Gay at Puke, if you don't outright pull for his lily white team's arse, no??? You're motherflucking head would spin if you knew how these top players were recruited to Puke.

I'm not on the inside of things, but I know a few people who are and have told me how these various recruits have been bought over the years. I've detailed a few here on the rant.

Damn you have no clue how the real world works, and I'm not saying that's a good thing, it's just REALITY.

To be fair, you could cherry pick some stats from the Wade era to "show" LSU was a bad team. For example, they were never all that highly ranked in assist per game. They were routinely a poor defensive rebounding team and they weren't all that great at defending the 3.

However, they always made up for it by being elite at other aspects. That 18-19 team killed teams on the offensive glass and stole the ball at a high clip. The teams with Smart at PG were often great at not turning the ball over (which seem shocking given Smart had something like 10 TO in his first start at PG). His final team struggled badly on offense, but was dominant defensively. The turned teams over non-stop.

McMahon's teams, thus far, have just not really been good at anything. Or at least they can't find a way for the good to outweigh the bad. For example, this year LSU is a good shooting team (from a FG% standpoint). But that is severely mitigated because they take so few shots a game compared to their opponents because LSU turns the ball over and can't keep opponents off the offensively glass

Still has more to do with talent than coaching

Who is responsible for bringing in the talent? With the transfer portal basketball can do a complete 180 in a year. There is no excuse anymore.

Well said but all roads lead to the same point: matt McMahon’s teams don’t do anything well.

We shouldn’t have an AD so out of touch with the fanbase and students.
Since this is Scotty's faule he should give up some of his contract money to get rid of McMeh!!!!

What we’re watching with McMahon is what “following the rules” gets you.

How this guy became a Head college coach in any capacity is really interesting.
Guy lacks all the things players fight for and use to be competitive in a game.

Sorry but since he has 2 commitments from 2 of the top PG and PF in the country next year he will get the opportunity to elevate the play next year. If he struggles next year then I'll agree with everything being said here but he gets more than 2 years.

If you don't fire WW we are not in this predicament.

Being an AD is not rocket science. Just don't allow your ego to get in the way and do no harm and usually good things happen.

No one knows what would have happened if he kept Wade from a football standpoint. I was a Wade fan but it's over, he's gone but MM Has been a marked man since the day he arrived. And there are so called fans that would rather see them lose to prove their point and continue to whine about WW and bash SW than to have them succeed.Fact.

I think it’s 36-27, either way not a great crowd. I don’t want to take away from the point that the team being worse affects the turnout. But even when Wade was here, the non-conference games against smaller schools never drew big crowds. The most apparent has been the lack of student support that I think Wade made a big effort to get.
