If winning a natty gets Saban to retire, do you pinch your nose and root for the tide?

I'd rather they never win a natty even if we continue to get spanked by him every year

50/50 on this. If we could creat a Bobby Bowden situation it would be good but Saban would call it quits before that.

If it meant saban would retire? I think I’d go for that. Ask yourself this question, who is likely to step in and replace Bama with no saban? In my opinion that would be us. It would be a win in the field and in recruiting to have saban retire.

I'd prefer they lose in demoralizing fashion and Saban retires.

Not saying I want Saban to win but I sure as hell don't want Mich, Wash or Texas to win.

Hell no especially how they got in. I'd rather the committee look like complete assholes.

Nope.

Keep losing. He will eventually retire.

Is this a trick question?
No way we would root for Alabama.

But it brings up an intriguing question:
Who would the Red Menace hire if Saban did retire?

Dabo? Bring back Sarkisian? Or Kiffin? (I'm spitballing here)

There truly is nobody alive who wouldn't be a major downgrade in the head coaching position for them.

Let's all pray that that glorious day comes soon.

If it meant saban retires. Yes. They’ve won 6 in the last 17 years. What’s 1 more at this point. Would rather him win one more than Kirby.

thought of this multiple times...

Do i want them to win it - NO

Will they - LIKELY

Will it cause Satan to retire next to the lake of fire - fingers crossed.

I just can’t see that premise holding up. It is rare for the highly successful to walk away.

I think a loss, especially in humiliating fashion, would go much farther in getting him to retire in the next few years than another title would.

Another title just reinforces a belief that it still working and probably keeps him around another 4-5 years.

I want Bama to win. I cant pull for TX or Michigan. ALso, I want them to shut Penix out, so there's no debate about the Heisman. It sucks, but Im pulling for Bama. Saban retiring would just be a bonus.

Will never root for them even when Satan retires. I hope they crumble to the ground.

I am rooting for chaos this year. I want Bama to beat Michigan, Texas to beat Washington, and Florida St to beat Georgia. Then I don't care who wins the CFP NC game.

I want to see what happens with the only undefeated team being FSU. ACC Champs, wins over LSU and UGA. What do the polls do in that scenario

If he wins the natty this year, he coaches until 80. Just get used it.
