I realize rationally that Burrow played QB at a level that we'll never see again in CFB, but JD5 is the most electric player I ever saw in an LSU uniform and I'm old as frick.

Set the whole block on fire, idc

It's still Joe, but being #2 ain't bad.

Everyone knows who Batman is...they also know Robin, too.

I don’t want to compare the two. JD carried an absolutely dogshit team on his back. Burrow played on an NFL lite team

I really don’t want to compare the two. They’re both great in their own right. Burrow will always be The Geauxt because of that 2019 run, but JD showed amazing progression and unreal playmaking ability. Crazy to think if we’d had a decent D, we could be looking at another Heisman/Natty this year.

Watching JD was like watching Honey Badger play on offense. Incredibly explosive player.

I like to reframe this and compare Burrow and JD’s Heisman seasons with all winners in history and consider where they rank.

Spoiler: BOTH are very high

From an exciting to watch standpoint, its hard to beat a QB capable of torching defenses with their arm but also running for 80 yard TD’s

Daniels was pretty damn close. In fact, I think a lot of LSU fans don’t want to admit that because they feel saying so is somehow demeaning of Burrow.

The reality is Daniels produced about 95% of Burrow’s reg season production as a passer AND 75% of Clyde’s production as a runner. That’s incredible. I can’t recall another QB, including Burrow, that when he stepped on the field you expected him to score every time…in a minimal amount of plays

The ONLY reason Daniels is not playing for a championship like Burrow is Matt House. But from an individual standpoint Daniels has been just as good

No he isn’t, but I understand you getting caught up in the emotion.

I’ve enjoyed watching other players play more, JB9 being tops on that list.

But “electric?” Seriously? You don’t even have to go into ancient history. You have never seen an LSU player more electrifying than the Honey Badger. Did so much, in spite of trying to be marginalized by the opposing offense. He didn’t care. Hell, he didn’t care if the receiver had already caught the ball. He was gonna go after it still.

You’ve never seen it before or since.

TM7, JD and JB are all exceptional Tigers.

He's really, really high for me too and has been since the Bama win.

I've never seen a QB with his combo of speed, elusiveness, and ability to take intelligent angles. He also had an unshakeably good attitude and despite being slim, he took dozens of legit shots through 2 years of SEC play and he just jumped up and kept playing.

He's a Vick-tier college dual threat QB who's tough as nails and as selfless as they come. And we're as lucky to have gotten him as we are Burrow, title aside.

The word “team” would also include the defense.

Yeah running for a bunch of yards against a 5-7 Florida team is equal to having 17 total tds against Georgia, Oklahoma, and Clemson in the sec championship game and playoffs.

Also scoring 7 points with an int in the second half of both Florida state and Bama is equal to what burrow did against Texas and Bama.

Jayden had a great season and deserved the Heisman but this absurd recency bias is going to make rational people push back on these hyperbolic statements

This is Jayden’s time. The 2023 Heisman trophy winner! One of if not the most electric player I have ever watched at any level! And EVERYONE knows if LSU would have fielded a defense with a pulse, they would be the odds on favorite to win it all this year!

The LSU football player whom I enjoyed watching play football while a Tiger more than any other was Tyrann Mathieu. On defense, I love how he focused less on tackling and more on taking the ball or stripping it out of the opponent's hands. And, on offense, his scampering was scintillating (especially the many times he returned punts for touchdowns.) Overall, the distinctive way he played (and even still plays) the game made watching football simply FUN.

By that logic, Jefferson, Lee or Mettenberger should've at least sniffed the Heisman since they were throwing to Jarvis and OBJ.
