Twas the night before Heisman, an original poem

Twas the night before Heisman,
And all through the land,
Not a Tiger was worried,
Not even the rant,
The ballots were marked by the voters with care,
And the the best college players,
They soon would be there,
The west coast were nestled all snug in their beds,
Two last PAC-12 hopefuls still danced in their heads,
The BIG-10 had their guy, a tip of the cap,
With the Biletnikoff (what a load of horse crap)
The Maxwell went to Penix, and the rant it did clatter,
But they snubbed 'cause of Burrow, so what did it matter,
Then right by my window there flew a gold flash,
Like Teedy flying first class to some foreign bash,
Well the moon in the sky lit the dead grass below,
(With the heat wave this summer, well, it didn't grow)
And then what to my wandering eye should appear,
Than a cadre of Tigers, all dressed up in their gear,
With a great grinning QB, so lively and quick,
Well I knew in a moment, it wasn't Bo Nix,
More rapid than ref flags, his touchdowns they came,
And when he wasn't passing, he'd rush for big gains,
To Nabers! To Thomas! To Lacy! To Taylor!
They were sticking defenders like Vlad the Impaler!
And if he couldn't pass, he would run with the ball!
With such speed, like a steed, and the end zone would call,
And records we'd sworn that would never be broken,
If I'd told you this last year you'd swear I was jokin',
That Kid Jayden Daniels, he proved me wrong too,
And I've eaten my crow, with a smile, so should you,
Now he's bound for New York, for the big one you see,
The best in the land, in the year 23,
But there's those who would scoff,
Say his team it lost thrice,
But the next closest to him, well the third guy beat twice,
Overlook the close loss, like the ref a hit dirty,
And if Tigers had defense we'd have beat 'em by thirty,
Cause you see, this Kid Jayden, that Tiger was TOUGH,
You can tell he was made from a lot sterner stuff,
From when he first started, well how he improved,
How to read, how to throw, when to wait, when to move,
Now the naysayers? Silent, his name they all chant,
He did the insane, quite in spite of the rant,
Now the votes are all in, and the bets are all placed,
Who will win? I don't know, best hope it's not a race,
Cause a swift stalwart soldier will put up a fight,
Geaux Tigers, Geaux Jayden, good luck, and good night.

This section was so well worded. Kudos.
(Minor edit: you misspelled Nabers in 6th section)

Excellent, and kudos for that work. Very high quality prose, right there.

Awesome as always - the Poet Laureate of Tigerdroppings. I’ll never understand the hate **cough**jealousy**cough** you get from some on the OT. True brilliance at work.
