I read a few years back where supposed scientists said vitamins don’t do jackshit for you. Don’t know if this is true or not.

The reason I ask is because I’m a huge carnivore. Vegetables and fruit are okay but I’m totally bored eating them. Is there a real supplement that exists that truly does give you the exact same nutrients that are in fruits and vegetables?

I’m willing to scroll through the upcoming PETA dick sucking, woke vegan, ‘you’re gonna die of a heart attack’ bullshite posts to read the truth.

I’ll hang up and listen.

Should have posted this on the health and fitness board instead of the OT.

Vitamin D and Zinc helped a lot of people during covid. Big benefit of meat is the vitamin k you get from animal fat - also a big helper during covid - and the flu that people lack today.

I only take methylated vitamins. That way the body can absorb them in a useful form and not have to break them down, if it can.

The body can't use all of the regular vitamins and ends up not being synthesized and is flushed out.

Taking regular vitamins is like putting crude oil in your vehicle. The gasoline is in there, it's just not refined. Methylated vitamins is the high octane gasoline.

10X Multivitamin

The wife has been researching way too much about foods, etc and is fully convinced that vitamins not only don't help, they're a detriment.
Especially synthetic vitamins.
Only real vitamins obtained through foods are good for you.

Short answer is no one knows for sure.

Which means it doesnt matter much either way.

Eat your meat Geekboy and take a multivitamin and zinc and live your life.

no they havent been debunked...they are called supplements for a reason, as in the supplement your diet, they are not a replacement for whole foods.

in your case you are missing many micro nutrients and would POSSIBLY benefit from a good multi and a supplement like athletic greens.

but to really know if vitamins are going to be useful for you...you need to have blood work done to see if you are deficient in certain areas and supplement those areas.

there are great supplements to help with all kinds of things....but just throwing the kitchen sink at something usually ends up with you having too much of one and not enough of another.

now a greens supplement would just be taking the place of the fruits and veggies. not nearly as good as eating the whole foods but better than not taking it.

If you listen to all of the alleged experts, pretty much anything you consume is bad for you. I guess we should all stop eating and drinking.

Probably need to explain absorption. How if a label says 5000 MG of X, that not all, or sometimes even close to that number, is useful to the body and is a waste.

Nutrition literature is a shite show unfortunately. Logically, if you are deficient in something and can ingest that substance, then you are helping yourself. From there, it's a matter of whether or not the mode of ingestion and format of the material ingested will be compatible with physiological processes for assimilation. And that's where confusion rests with a lot of supplements. And this is also where bodies like the FDA and NIH have completely failed.

I took vitamin D and a multivitamin everyday for years. Never had Covid. My doctor told me to stop taking vitamin D because the multivitamin already has it so I listened to my doctor.

Three weeks later, at Easter 2023, I got Covid for the first and only time. I take vitamin D every day again.

Yeah, I've used Methyl Life from Amazon. Still $41 a bottle. Any methylated vitamin will cost more.

Everyone who has taken supplements died afterward.

News at 11.

If you are taking supplements, a doctor should have said "you are low in x".
And in your follow up, the doctor should have said, "your X looks great. Whatever you are doing, keep it up".

Outside of home remedies (loading up on vitamin c and d when you are sick), I don't see why anyone would supplement without the recommendation of a medical professional.

If you are eating clean carnivore (no junk, no carbs, no processed foods, just meat) you will not be missing much from your diet. If you are truly concerned, go get tested and develop a supplement plan based on your individual needs.
