It’s just too early for people to complain. If bama beats Michigan or wins it all then they got it right. If uga beats fsu they got it right. We’ll see.

Agree to disagree here the results should not matter. But to there defense there was no “right” in the scenario. No matter what decision was made it would have been wrong. Just the perfect storm.

This is an incredibly bad way of assessing it.

The CFP committee, ladies and gentlemen.

No. No.

That's not how that works.

The result is not determinative of whether it was a good decision.

If I get completely drunk and drive myself home but don't die, that doesn't make it a good decision to drive drunk.

If I cheat on my wife and she never finds out, that doesn't make it a good decision to cheat on her.

If I fire my gun into a crowd but no one gets hurt, that doesn't make it a good decision to open fire.

If the CFP Committee chose Texas A&M and they beat Washington, that doesn't mean choosing A&M was a good decision.

So, no, if Bama beats Michigan or wins it, or if Georgia beats FSU, that doesn't mean the CFP Committee got it right.

No, if Bama wins it all then the committee did exactly what they wanted to do.

Meaningless bowl game

And if the opposite happens, all they can say is “whoops”

who gets in is supposed to based off of what DID happen so far, not what will happen in the future

Not really.

They will say that, but it still isn’t right. Because we don’t know what would have happened had FSU got in. Maybe they would have won it all

No they still would’ve gotten it wrong. How do those outcomes make what this corrupt committee did to FSU make it ok?

this kind of thinking is so wrong. the point of the committee is there were a lot of great teams with great records this year. so any of them were capable of winning. Georgia could have won it all, no doubt. so did the committee do the right thing in keeping them out? you'll never know because it has to be decided on the field, which is what the season is about. who deserved the opportunity to have the chance? Oregon is capable of winning it all as well.

No they didn't.

By that logic UGA should have been in also because they would be favored and probably beat both Wahington and Michigan.

You can’t use results to justify it, that’s 20/20 hindsight. If you hit on 18 in blackjack and get a 3 you did not get it right, you got lucky

The outcome of the decision is moot in judging whether the methodology of the decision was correct.

Whether Alabama wins or loses by 40 points, it has no bearing on the fact that the committee made the wrong decision.

Ignorant people parrot rhetoric like this regarding 2011, 2014 and 2017 all the time. Super ignorant people (aka Gump fans) take it to the extreme regarding TCU’s loss to UGA last year…forgetting that TCU was actually the 3 seed not the 4, and defeated previously undefeated Michigan in the semi-finals.

I bet if that was Clemson and Dabo they wouldn't be left out because of the ACC. FSU was doing what Clemson was doing the last 10 years but the media let it slide because of Dabo/Clemson.
