They’re going to drain the ocean, and sea levels will reduce, speeding up the process of climate change

It won’t be entirely effective, but it’s part of the solution.

Are you suggesting that Israel just now came up with the idea?

They’ve done it before. It doesn’t work for the scale of tunnels that exist in Gaza. At least not as a stand-alone solution.

Eta: why the downvotes? Not even Israel thinks this is a significant solution to the tunnel problem in Gaza. It’s a temporary plan to force people up in certain areas.

Watch for Hamas to "hide" civilians in the tunnels to shelter them from Israeli bombs.

I think they have given up on getting anymore hostages or they would have done this long ago. I think they assumed the hostages were being held in the tunnels. Do it!

Chase that water with a little electricity and make a “salt water pool” treatment with enough chlorine to “disinfect” the tunnels.

The tunnel systems are too large, too segregated, and the ground is too sandy to somehow “flood” the whole thing.

That’s not why they are doing it.

Logistics of planning that kind of takes a while.

That was my first thought. The headlines would read "IDF drowns its own citizens".

I think this is purely to compel the barbarians to move the hostages in order to learn more of their whereabouts and tactics.

IDF should do what Egypt did to Hamas tunnels between Gaza and the Sinai back in 2013: flood them with sewage
