Do you guys realize we had the #1 offense, QB that should not only win the Heisman but sweep all the national awards, and two 1,000 yard receivers, one leading the FBS in yards and the other tied for the lead in TD’s. All three first round picks and yet because the horrible way we played defense, if this year was the 12 team playoffs we would still be home for the playoffs, f’ing tragedy.

We top the 2019 season this year with a mediocre defense.

It’s a travesty

In a down year for CFB. Jayden waltzes this team to a championship with just a mediocre defense.

Let's examine the facts again. Kelly took over a broken program with only 39 scholarship players remaining. He brought in some great transfers such as Daniels, Bernard-Converse, Brooks, Foucha, Bramblett, Lacey,Williams-Garner, Wingo, Frazier, etc. and some great freshmen such as Perkings, Campbell, Jones, and Taylor. We won 10 games and the SEC West. Kelly signed a great group of freshmen in 2023 and picked up some good transfers such as Diggs, Swinson, and Shand; we won 9 games and lost three games to teams that had a combined record of 35-3. The defense has to be rebuilt (keep watching the portal), and it will be. Quit the constant negativism.

I don’t think anyone is contesting what you’re saying, it’s just very frustrating to completely waste a top 2 offense in school history because the defense was just that bad.

Just think of the numbers our offense could have put up if the defense could get off the field.

CBK has been here TWO years —- so saying it’s his fault totally- for shitvdefenses is very wrong. He didn’t inherit a stocked defense to begin with

The SEC as a whole is not as good this year as it was in 2019. We also beat Texas on the road and a Bama team that was a helluva lot better than this year's Gump squad. Even with Daniels' phenomenal accomplishments, the 2019 offense was a lot more fun to watch. So many weapons.

Kelly’s last 3 defenses at Notre Dame were ranked higher than
LSU’s defenses those years.

The fact that we had another "lightning in a bottle" offense but the defense was so bad that we had several losses is enough to fire multiple people. This is LSU. We call ourselves DBU for god's sake. Bummer.

I’m soooooo tired of this loser-arse excuse.

CBK has done great, 1st 2 seasons with 9-10 wins is great work. Most coaches don’t do this well after 5,6,7 seasons. LSU couldn’t go out and hire any bettter HC.

But … this 2 year old line is worn out. It sounds really weak and pitiful now.

Pretty easily. The top teams this year are not separated much from the field. This is the most tightly packed group at the top in the playoff era. In years past there have been an average points spread of 12 for semi final matchups, this year it's a combined 6 points for a 3 point average. There have been dominant teams in years past and this year it seems like most anyone is beatable, which has generally proven true.
