No. Amazon has A-to-Z guarantee and will almost always side with the customer over the seller. You could have filed an A-to-Z claim and recieved your money back.

Unless you're a major volume or huge company, selling on Amazon is a loser even with good sales #s. They will charge you back and don't give a damn about QA on customer returns.

Luckily I have some items with huge margins or else it wouldn't be worth it.
The lower margin items I sell through Walmart or eBay because there is less fraud risk and that keeps those items profitable.
The few returns I have had through Walmart the people actually returned them in the store so it was at least inspected before being returned. Walmart then ships the item back to me.

Some of the stuff isn't worth sending in for FBA and we also sell on different sites so I just send it out FBM

The "random" receipt checks at places like Walmart and Sam's amuse me.
The receipt checker will watch me scan each of my items, pick up my bags, walk directly towards them, and still check my receipt every time. Others will have an unmarked unbagged big screen TV and walk right by and won't be stopped

It's a problem Amazon has created for themselves.
Overly liberal return policies bring out the fraud. Where my SO works, they were accepting returns even on items that were not even carried by the store. If the item has been worn and damaged, they still honor the return. If the local store refuses the return, they call the main office to cajole a return.

I looked into doing fba but at the end of the day I didn't figure the headache would be worth it. I know it can be a pain to get ungated in certain categories.

So easy for people to claim "I got screwed and want my $ back) and they are actually screwing you. I have several retail businesses and honestly I don't believer hardly anyone who complains now days. It's sad that we have to view society like that but the good usually suffers for the bad. The things they say to try to prove a point while I have audio and video saying the opposite is crazy. They double down and I say I'm watching and hearing what went on and telling them it's simply not true. Good luck.

You’re a seller and don’t have experience with USPS or something? Over a dozen times over the past few years I have had to figure who the hells door step my package is sitting on from those photos. And I’ve had people pick up packages off my porch using the same method. If I can’t identify the location from the photo, I file a claim. I assume most people don’t waste their own time with the detective work.

Same here. The photos don't prove squat. Just a couple Fridays ago I was expecting a package. I received an email saying it was delivered with a photo of my package. Except there was no package anywhere at my house. I emailed the seller and told them and they said sometimes they just take a photo of the package and mark it as delivered so I should just wait until Monday and see if they bring it. Sure enough Monday morning it was there. So on Friday, the delivery guy knew he wasn't going to be able to deliver it, so he just marked it delivered, took a photo and called it a day.
The point is, these people don't give a shite and your package could be anywhere whatsoever.
