I use Adblocker for Youtube and Sponsorblock for Youtube on Firefox. Sponsorblock lets users mark "this video sponsored by" sections of a video. When you watch, you can skip based on this input.

I recently started using Orion and love it. Built on WebKit like safari but can use Firefox or Chrome extensions. Still technically in beta I think.

I have Adblock Plus and using it on Chrome and just noticed today it has begun blacking YT ads again. I get a screen flash where is the yellow progress line they use for ads (white for videos) is all the way across the screen then the video starts.

I wonder how long the war will go on between them before someone wins or someone gives up.

I tried to watch 10 hours of 4k fall scenes using 'no ads' in my search on my frame TV and I gave up. Used to be a great way to have some ambience in the room but there are literally ads every 2-3 minutes on just about every video.

Ruins it.

I can't even repeat personal videos I've uploaded to my private account on repeat without that fricking "are you still watching" bullshite popping up and fricking that up too.

No way to get rid of it either except to put videos on sla USB stick and try doing it that way.

Way to frick up a previously great app, Google.

I just got a new round of messages from YouTube:
Video player will be blocked after 2 videos

It looks like you may be using an ad blocker. Video playback will be blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled.
Ads allow YouTube to be used by billions worldwide.
You can go ad-free with YouTube Premium, and creators can still get paid from your subscription.

Got that myself however it was 3 videos and after a couple weeks went to 2 videos.

Until signing out and now no more, this was the work around others had found, and so far no new verbiage.

Yeah I've had YouTube Red since the OG days. Grandfathered in with music still and use background playback daily.

Cracks me up people will pay $15/mo for Hulu or Netflix but not for YouTube when they use it more and it's got better content.

YouTube, $GOOGL, says it might make your viewing experience worse if you don't turn off your ad-blocker, per BI

They'll eventually find a way to force free + ads or pay + no ads.

I discovered a workaround on my PC since the ad blocker warning started popping up, you can log out and YouTube will still work and the ad blockers will work or if you want to stay logged in just right-click on the warning when it pops up and hit reload in the dialog box, the warning will go away and you can watch your ad-free YT vids.

I installed a new blocker, thanks to this board, and it's been working for a while. This morning...I just got another warning from Youtube. I think they're just going to annoy people and force them to go to Rumble.
