However, if he is being cross examined there are parameters that a Court can require he follow.
For example, many times of court will instruct a witness to simply answer yes or no to a question without hyperbole.
We all grew up thinking/respecting this but the Left has destroyed this by the way the handle being congressional witnesses. Frick'em Dems have moved the goalposts so now they cant complain when the other team finally adjusts.
Trump is just baiting for appeal at this point and this judge got hooked by some of the comments he made. Judge needs to be above the fray, but got in the mud.

I think it should be clear by now that one of the objectives of project lawfare is to leverage these "charges" to muzzle Trump as much as possible.
And it appears to be backfiring.

War Room showed a clip of one of the networks that had their legal analyst saying he doesn't think they will ever jail Trump. The two correspondents looked visibly disappointed.

Idk. This thing is going all the way up the food chain so having a obviously bias judge making decisions should be easy enough to show

There aren’t any cameras so CNN can report on these proceedings any way they want.
An enterprising network should do a court room reenactment like they did for the OJ civil trial since cameras were not allowed. I think CourtTV did that.

I’m far from a legal scholar but this is his testimony to give. Blow it out your arse, judge. He’s doing his thing and you’ll accept it while it happens. Your opinion on his testimony shouldn’t impact his ability to give it.
Could be worse.

In the afternoon session of October 29, Judge Hoffman ordered [Bobby] Seale to be bound, gagged, and chained to a chair. According to John Schultz, when the jury was allowed into the courtroom, juror Jean Fritz began weeping, and other jurors "squirmed hard in their seats at the sight."
On three days, Seale appeared in court bound and gagged before the jury, struggling to get free, and at times managing to loudly insist on his right to defend himself. On October 30, in open court, Kunstler declared, "This is no longer a court of order, your Honor; this is a medieval torture chamber."

Having to answer questions is perfectly fine with me and is why I mentioned the lawyers taking it up if there is a problem with how he is or isn’t answering said questions.
I apologize if I misinterpreted what you said. I agree, that happens all of the time. The other side has to object to the question or the questioning side has to object as nonresponsive to the question being asked.

“No, I do not want to hear everything this witness has to say,” Engoron angrily replied. Trump shook his head and smiled. “I am not here and these people are not here to hear what he has to say; we are here to hear him answer questions,” Engoron continued. “It’s very simple. Is this an accurate number? It’s very simple.”
This exchange looks really bad on the judge IMO. If you don’t ask pointed, direct questions to some and especially Trump, you’re going to get some wandering and rambling.. thsts who he is and why he got elected

I agree and Trump wanted appeal reasons and to get it reported, and was successful. Thing I'm wondering though is what is the process to stop the NY govt from raiding his offices and starting selling his stuff dissolving his company. May be wrong, but I think this is the potential penalty from this ruling. All before the appeals start or another judge can put a hold on it.
Idk how much NY is saying he owes them in taxes, but let's not put it past NY to have a secret auction set up for mins after the judgement, selling MAL to obama for 18m.

The judge had to maintain order and direct the witness to answer the questions directly and without filibustering. That’s what he has done.
He is very well aware that Trump is hoping to bait him so he can use something for appeal.
The prosecutor has even been patient and has allowed his off topic ramblings.
They even took a 15 minute recess and regrouped.
At one point, Trump was railing on Letitia James. The prosecutor let him go on and then asked Trump if “he was done”. Trump said “done”, and there was laughter in the courtroom.
This is understood by following along with what reporters are quoting from the trial today.

No problem. I’m just giving my personal opinion on matters. In a legal sense if I’m wrong I’ll gladly learn how and why and move on. I know we have more than a few posters around here that will take the opportunity. Lol.

Trump is baiting the judge into showing his bias. He knows it’s a show trial, so the goal is to do this so he has a strong appeals case
Leftists are easy to enrage. “If your enemy is of choleric temper, irritate him. Pretend to be weak, so that he may grow arrogant”

If he really did say that….that’s a very terrible statement to make.

Do you think this judge is biased, and do you think he is treating Trump fairly?
