Who will it be? There is no way Grupe stays on the team after failing time and time again

Maybe you just ride it out. If you look at the 3rd best kicker in the league (Sum Yung Gai of the Falcons) he was so yippy in San Diego that they cut him. Now he has a reputation for being a cold-blooded assassin, especially from 50+ to win games.

Grupe has the physical tools and he has made some good kicks. His miss yesterday was "better" than his previous misses. It was on line, it was confident, and it just seemed like it was a little bit of bad luck on the action and the way it didn't fade as he expected it to.

I was the biggest Lutz fanboy on here but there's probably nobody better than Grupe out there at the moment.

Punter is probably a different story, although I'm happy Heds had his best day as a Saint yesterday.

Not happy with the decision regarding Grupe/Lutz. I’m curious if Grupe kicked any game winners in college?

Eta: Seemed he kicked one at Arkansas state, not sure about Notre Dame

Wanna bet.

Grupe is cheap and will develop into a solid kicker. If not he's still cheap.

No, he stays. Kickers just don’t make 100% of their kicks so get over it.

NFL kickers (for the most part) show consistency in making game winners otherwise you get cut. Grupe has costed us 2-3 games this year so far.

I'll take someone who can consistently hit from inside 50 rather than someone who is spotty but will occasionally surprise you.

I agree. Cole Tracy for example.

I guess you haven’t paid attention to Dennis Allen very much.

He either doesn’t find it an issue or he doesn’t have the balls to make a move or both. He’s a pussy.

This has been his problem. If he makes that 29 yarder against Houston, I don't think you have the weekly call for his head. But he has now missed 1 under 30, 2 between 40-49, and 2 50+. Plus, the team has opted not to kick a longer FG a few times, and that has to also be chalked up to kicking concerns.

Bro. Allen accepted a penalty that would have resulted in a FG attempt and turned into.a TD.

Whatever happened to Cade York? I wasn't following him but I know he hit some kicks to win early last season for the Browns. I assume he started missing and they cut him?

9 for 12 between 30-39 probably did him in
6 for 8 between 40-49 doesn't help

Also missed 2 XPs

Cole Tracy was always more consistent than York.

DA has already said grupe is our kicker this year

thats it as far as he is concerned about the kicking game.

it would take grupe missing 7-8 kicks straight before DA would admit to making a mistake

he is super young and nobody is perfect, so im willing to see if he fixes things before the end of this year. they say kicking is 100% all in your head so maybe he can get it together?
