What's it costing you to send a child to daycare right now?

Nothing, but if I got rid of it, it would cost me half of my assets.

$1400/month. It's like another mortgage payment

It was like ~$2400/mo for both kids. Let me just say, the day they both started elementary school was awesome. Saving that difference for emergencies, college, marriages and some fun trips. The part we aren't saving is going to the ever increasing costs of sports/activities that come with them getting older.

When I had two in daycare 15 years ago I was paying $1100 a month. I'm sure Bidenomics has doubled that in today's time.

My kids are too old for childcare now...but I looked where they went to see their current pricing. They use a sliding scale based on the child:teacher ratio.
It ranges from $1,175/mo at 1:10...to $1,410/mo at 1:4.

Like 80% of my take home pay. And worse, I must have made a mistake and signed my life away bc they are all grown up now and I still pay the same lady 80%. I do occasionally get to bang her though, so that's nice.

$975 for all day preschool. In the Birmingham area, that’s fairly high.

My kids are 15 and 21. I’d hate to imagine what a good daycare costs nowadays. I remember my wife worked until our second child was born. We quickly realized if she continued to work, basically the only thing she’d be working for was to pay for daycare. Kinda made it pointless for her to keep working. So she quit her job and stayed home with the kids until our youngest started school. Thankfully, our kids’ school had an opening in the admin office and my wife was hired. Kinda all worked out.

You have to add location in your question, and in the responses. It could be $1,000 or $3,500 depending on where you live.
Daycare in LA for one kid should likely fall between $1,000-$1,500/mo. More rural areas you may find under $1,000.

We have a nanny. Let’s just say that I will be happy once that expense goes away
