Obviously the food is the same garbage. NY Style pizzas suck. They all remind me of that shitty food court pizza in malls Sbarro's

But my gripe is that their menus are ALL so overwhelming over the top with an insane amount of items on their menu.

We had a new place open up my house so I am looking at their menu to order some takeout for lunch and holy shite. They must have 250 items on their menu and it's everything from the regular garbage pizza to all kinds of other shite that have absolutely nothing to do with Italian food.

Usually, the more options the better, but every single NY style pizza restaurant seems to do this format... all of their food tastes the exact same. Bland, cheap, carboard flavored. Every single one of them tastes the exact same with shite food.

It's like Chinese food. Every Chinese take out or buffet tastes the exact same no matter where you eat at.

My question is - Is it like this in actual NY with all of their pizza restaurants? I don't understand why it is always the NYC restaurants that offer insane amount of non pizza/italian food on their menu

I’ve only been to NYC once, but I hit up a couple of the famous pizza shops and literally all they have is pizza.

Not sure what kind of place you’re referring to, TBH

I am sincerely intrigued and want to see a 250 item menu. Post that sucker, from a pizza joint no less. I'd read it for an hour

They call them NY Style so that they can throw red checkered tablecloths, and hang photos of New York scenes, Yankees' items, NYPD and NYFD stuff on the walls and be done with it.

The only thing that makes NY style pizza NY style is when the pizza is thin crust and floppy enough to fold in half like a taco when you eat it. Excessive menu items have nothing to do with NY style pizza restaurants. Where do you live and what's the name of this place?

name the place. we don’t really know what you’re talking about.

Tower of Pizza in metairie has like 3 things on the menu.

Pizza
Spaghetti with or without meatballs
Salad

Restaurant business is tough. Pizza places are the most common fast food out there and they hope to attract a wider crowd of folks by offering many varied menu items. Obviously this type of place is not your thing. I would avoid them if I were you.

No sense in bringing this type of unhappiness into your life. Just drive on by and try somewhere else. Perhaps try a chicken finger place. they usually have fewer options to confuse your dinner plans.

Only answer I can think of is when you look for good pizza, you either take advice from fatties or you just look for the cheapest pizza. Maybe you’re just a serial exaggerator.

I have never experienced what you describe and I’ve been eating NY style pizza almost weekly for the past 3 years.

Maybe some advice will help. Only eat pizza at a place with a wood fired pizza oven. These people give a shite about pizza and don’t cut corners. Some will still disappoint with the crust or canned ingredients, but this filtering mechanism alone will lead to good pizza the majority of the time. Never eat conveyor belt pizza.

Horrible take. Most real
NYC pizza places have a very very limited selection.
