They never realized we’d stolen theirs too.

After LSU's first three offensive drives ended with three punts and one first down, sources said a frustrated coach Ed Orgeron told offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, "Change it up." Upon changing signals, LSU scored touchdowns on five of its next six drives.

Context is important, too.

LSU started inside the 10 to start the game twice.

Possibly concerns about the players not getting the signals straight?

Leave the signals alone for Army and Grambling but then change them every other game
exactly, and I think most teams probably do this.

And, many teams have multiple guys on the sidelines signaling in plays. Clearly, only one is the real one and the others are decoys.

This is all a big fuss about nothing. Teams' signals are out there for the whole world to see. What's wrong with an opponent scouting them, just like an opponent watching game film of the actual games, to try to predict tendencies?

To me, if you don't want your signals stolen, do a better job of encrypting them.

The most surprising thing here is that Ed was aware enough to even notice.

I still don't see what is wrong with scouting another team.
everybody does that, coaches, if they weren't able to do it themselves, had people scout other teams that we were going to play way back when I was in high school

In-person scouting is illegal in the NCAA.

This just confirms that even when other top 5 teams had our signals they couldn't do shite to stop the 19' squad

It confirms exactly the opposite

When they had our signs they stoned us on three drives. It was only after we changed the signs that they failed - if you believe any of this.

Constantly changing signals confuses players and can make communication much harder. The easiest thing to do is use wristbands with play cards. You keep the signals the same for the corresponding number, but you change the plays each number is assigned every week.
