He is everywhere lately. It seems as though people either love him or hate him, not many folks on the fence. What is the general consensus here? In fact according to a survey by athletic yesterday, 48.9% of fans do not like him on “Game Day”. Although it does say viewership for the weekend college program is up over previous years. Are you a Pat fan??

The MSB seems pretty split on him. Some people think he has helped spice up Gameday. Others think he is an annoying meathead.

I don't think he is all that profound. I guess the energy is OK for Gameday.

I think there is a niche for him on Gameday. They don’t all need to be robots

I'm a fan. He's at least better than no charisma guys like Pollack or Desmond.

I probably would've loved him when I was in high school.

He's simply not funny or entertaining to me and the majority of his schtick seems to be just being in your face/zany/over the top.

I'm fine with him. He isn't there to be an expert, he is there to be an entertainer and to get the crowd involved. It's a full on WWE performance.

I refuse to watch any televised sports media that is put out there to force an agenda down the throat of everyone. If everyone would stop watching this propaganda then they have no ratings. I know he was a Punter. I’m sure he is a nice guy.

I used to listen to his show every day during work 3 years ago but that was kind of because I was looking for something to listen to. It wasn't bad but they were kind of up their own arse (with the exception of AJ Hawk, I like him). I haven't listened in a while though and don't really miss it. As for Gameday, you can debate whether McAfee should be there or not, but Gameday pre-McAfee needed something because it was stale as hell.

I hardly ever have the time to watch gameday. He seems like an alright guy, his style of media presence isn’t necessarily my favorite, but I’ve never read anything bad about him personally.

And frankly, the guy genuinely seems to have fun doing whatever it is he’s doing. I don’t think there’s a fake bone in his body. Which is more than you can say about a lot of media personalities and celebrities.

This is ESPN’s business model when it comes to commentary

He's entertaining. It's like listening to a wrestling promo when he talks. Love it.

Yep. The fans are what makes the Gameday show what it once was.

McAfee does a better job of getting the fans involved in the show than anyone else on the crew.

I had quit watching it completely but this year find myself tuned in with it on in the background at least compared to the past where I'd just put on a soccer match

-it's way too damn long
-becuase it's so long they have way too much filler, we don't need all the tearjerker segments
-this is a hot button issue that people seem to be split on, but corso needs to go. "but he's a legend!" Yes, he is. "He helped make gameday what it is!" Yes, I agree. "He should be able to pick when he wants to leave!" Uhh..why? If someone founded a company at age 20 and built it to a billion dollar congolmerate but they were still in the office at age 80 and had dementia and could barely speak you woudl clearly find some way to ease them into retirement, and it wouldn't besmirch their prior accomplishments or legacy in any way. Corso is hard ot l isten to and cann't really speak a couple sentences correctly at a time and often needs Kirk to help him. He's feeble and fragile and it's honestly juts sad watching them prop him up still.

His show is pretty good. He’s entertaining, knowledgeable enough, and has good guests.

My first exposure to him was a couple pretty over the top appearances on Game Day last year and I wasnt a fan. I like him now but I hardly ever watch game day. I will have his show on in the background so this is more about his show than his gameday appearances.

Interesting that he comes off this way to you. I see him as an over the top schtick guy who has a hot take on everything. I don't see anything genuine about his personality. If that's really him...he's just annoying. But I'm old. My son and daughter in law like him just fine. They are his target market. My 36 year old son still turns on game day. I think mostly because his dad always watched.
