I have a buddy who met Garth Brooks years ago and said that he was the "nicest SOB that he ever met."

Drew Brees’s Body guard/security dude. I was a Riding Lt in Baccus for years. In 10 when he was the king, in the meetings the week of the parade, this dude was demanding that we provide all this armed security to be everywhere around the float, kings table, anywhere he or his wife may be. They laughed at him. Parade day, they had all of is kind of make a wall by the limo and when he got out we were to stamd and walk behind him to the float. Well we did that and as we were walking, someone bum rushes me from the back to get between me and the other lt next to me, its this douche bag with Drews wife. Apparently drew started walking before she was out. In the bum rush to shield her from made up mob of people trying tk grope her, i stepped on her train of the dress and this dude went ape shite yelling “who is this guy, get him out of here, throw him out the parade”. Said effff you you little midget. I hope you fall off the the float and land on your effin head. Turned back and went to our bus as i could care less.

Funny thing when i got to our bus, one of the float lts was on it and he laughed and said “did you get thrown out too”.

Eff that dude.

Mario Lopez…

This was shortly after he married that Landry girl. He walks into Razoo and comes to the back patio. We are all drinking and I see him and yell, “oh shite! It’s slater!”

Granted, I was tipsy, but he replies, “it’s Mario!”

I laugh, take another sip of shitty beer and say, “oh slater, no one knows Mario. Why were you such a dick to Screech? Zack was way cooler and that’s why you got stuck with the druggie, whiny girl and not Kelly.”

Needless to say, he walked out. Yeah, I was a dick, but had he laughed it off, it could have been a cool moment of bros downing beers instead of douche thinking he was cooler than he was, him and me.

When LSU played at UK got to shoot the shite with Roman Harper about the saints and gave him grief about being a Gump. Super cool dude, funny as hell. He saw me after we got our arse whipped and just pointed, lol.

I've met quite a few pro wrestlers over the years and unfortunately most of them are pricks. One who was not was DDP (Diamond Dallas Page) -- super down to earth and cool af. Others who are truly nice guys are Hacksaw Jim Duggan and One Man Gang.

An inebriated Shawn Michaels and Sean Waltman were at a popular bar off Sherwood back in the 90s (forget the name... was it Mike's?) and when my gf at the time went to buy cigarettes from the machine (trashy I know) near where he was sitting, he started hitting on her. She told him, "You must be kidding... I can smell the semen on your breath." Shawn got up to follow her and Sean held him back and said to her, "Sorry, he does shite like this all the time"

I’ve only met some sports stars.

Drew Brees is as advertised. Super nice guy.

Jerry Rice is probably the coolest guy I’ve ever met. I’ve seen him a few times and he’s always in a good mood and sociable.

Kyler Murray is the biggest POS I’ve ever met. Seriously, dudes just a trash human.

Bo Jackson is an arse. He’s not trying to be, just think that’s who he is.

Met Wayne Newton in Houston Airport tram. Was sitting next to me and we talked during the ride. Really nice guy until a group of older ladies got on and freaked out. He shut down got off quick.

Also at a friends radio event, met Donny Osmond (HUGE a-hole. Told everyone not to look at him. lol)

Christina Aguilera also a big Bitch. Would talk down to everyone until cameras came on, then super nice.

During the height of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Both were very nice. Jessica was very nice to everyone.
While Jessica taking lots of pictures just sat and talked to Nick for about 30 minutes. Super cool. Remembers the Keg in Lafayette and playing there with his group in the 90s.

And the best was Weird Al Yankovic. Was on a bus all night then performed a couple songs at the event. Stayed and signed an autograph and took pics with every person at the event that wanted one. Awesome guy. Me and my buddy gave him a ride to his hotel. He was a 10/10.

Drank beer with the Cleveland Indians in the team hotel in the late 90s. Fun time. Turned Michael PS Hayes down when he asked me for a ride to DFW he smoked like a chimney and I didn’t want that in my car. I asked him if it was one flight to Badstreet USA.

I asked Andy Bean for an autograph when I was in 5th grade.

I asked him, "Mr Bean they say you can bite the cover off a golf ball. Is that true?"

"Kid do you believe everything you read?"

Thought he was a dick but learned a very valuable life lesson.

ETA Andy Bean died today at the age of 70.

Sounds like you were the douche. Interactions with dumb asses like you describe is why many celebrities want no part of the public.

Several Nascar and NHRA drivers. All extremely nice, especially John Force and his daughters & son in law, Ron Capp, etc. Jesse James what with his wife at NHRA event and was very nice and down to earth.

All of those people are so great. My step dad used to bring cars to race in the street classes at those big events and raced against a lot of those guys back in the 70s and 80s. I remember back in probably 1995 or so, we went to the big event in Baytown…I think during that particular time it was called the slick 50 nationals. We walked around in the pits and it was getting to be later in the day. All the racing was done and it was pretty dead, we decided to walk around and see who we could see. We walked up on a couple older guys sitting outside around a grill in their roped off pit area. The guys look up and see my step dad and one says, “Holy shite, (his last name), is that you?!? We haven’t seen you in years! Being your kid on in here and have a beer and a steak!”

It was Warren Johnson and Bob Glidden. We hung out with them for probably 3 or 4 hours talking cars and all three of them trading stories. Probably the coolest thing I took away from it, and it never really hit me until later, is how much respect they obviously had for my step dad. They hung on every story about cars he had. I’ll never forget that day…I know it probably doesn’t mean much to most people but I love motor racing, especially drag racing, and those two guys are fricking legends. RIP Bob.

Not a huge celeb but this is the only a-hole encounter I have had relative to OP:

Newt Gingrich’s wife was the ambassador to the Vatican, and I was on my honeymoon in Rome. My wife and I met her at the table next to us and she was extremely c unty and conceited and LOVED talking about herself. I didn’t even know who she was until she told us who she was and the she definitely seems like the type of person who googles herself over and over to see what people are saying.

On the other hand I once met Costner and he couldn’t have been nicer.

Work in the restaurant business in Williamson County, Tennessee. It’s Franklin, so it’s where most of your celebrity and music people live. Here are my interactions.

Zach Piller - played offensive line for the gators and titans. The dude, man, I can’t say enough good things about him. He and his wife own some bars called Neighbors. I’ve worked for he and her and both are salt of the earth humans. Zach is a big arse kid. Me and him bonded over our love of Jaws. He showed up to work one day dressed like the Amity mayor, in full authentic suit. He also gave me some Quint action figures that are impossible to find. He let me wear my Tennessee Vols hats while working and we would rib each other. Or, my Steelers hats. He was just your typical good time BAW. Still is. The guy personally helped me get sober, when I was going through some tough times. If you are ever in Nashville or Franklin and want to meet him or just frequent his bar - Neighbors - it’s money well spent. They give big time to charities in the Nashville area.

Served the following -

Will Bartholomew - he and his family are Tennessee blue bloods and he started D1 training with Peyton. Great dude. Great family. Tips BIGLY. His kids are very well behaved, which is hard to say about a lot of the kids in Williamson County.

Albert Haynesworth - he is quiet. Like REALLY quiet. Which seems the antithesis of his sports career. Just laid back and doesn’t really want to be bothered about sports stuff anymore. So, I always just let him be and serve him and he takes care of me

Keith Bullock - he owns a coffee shop next to Neighbors in Franklin and was always in to visit Zach. Another good dude. He is more chatty than Haynesworth and likes to talk sports. He’s a guy, like Zach, that doesn’t care what you do, for his business,
Youre family to him. I always ribbed him about disrespecting the terrible towel, but he was always cool about it. Good human being

Served Naomi Judd a lot, before she passed away. Seriously a good human being. Didn’t really want anyone to fawn all over her, just wanted to be treated like everyone else.

Served Ryan Tannehill - good dude. Very respectful. It makes me feel bad the way the media and fans treat him - but, it’s the NFL, so I get it - but again, he just wants to be treated like everyone else and is a big ‘ thank you ‘ type of guy

RA Dickey - played in the MLB for awhile with his knuckleball. Great dude! He will talk to you about his MLB days and loves interacting with people. He is what any southern BAW should aspire to be as a family man.

Jay Cutler - kinda what you’d expect. He used to come in with his wife, before they separated. She was sweet, but you could tell they were having their ‘ issues ‘ … he’s aloof and some would say ‘ cold ‘ … I just knew what to expect and leave him be. Take his order, take care of him and his kids and give them good service. He was nice and tipped really well. Just knew not to really bother him about sports and stuff. Drove a HUGE truck with those big arse spotlights on it, always double parked, which cracked me up. I know he’s a big time hunter, so I never questioned his need of a truck that big, like I would some boardroom executive, who would drive the same truck. The dude would POUND a triple burger and fries. I mean, destroy it, and he never gained a pound. His kids were very well behaved and respectful too, even after the separation.

Sam Hunt - your typical BAW. Would always sit at the bar, wearing the most random stuff, so no one would recognize him. If they did, he was affable and nice. He just wants to hang with his buddies and drink and have a good time. He’s a generous tipper and he always treated me and others with respect. The ‘ yes ma’am ‘ / ‘ no ma’am ‘ type of BAW we were raised to be in the south.

There’s more, but that’s all for now. I don’t post a lot, but this thread brought me out of the ol’ TD bushes.

I had a part time gig in college as a music writer for a newspaper which was the coolest job that paid virtually nothing.

I met and interviewed some famous artists and most were at the least cordial.

Not John Popper. This was in his skinny days after losing a bunch of weight. I was set up to interview him at a music festival and the liaison from the management team brought me over to him back stage. As soon as she walked off he started acting like a prick claiming he wasn’t John Popper. I thought he was just trying to be funny but he clearly didn’t want to talk to me, so once it was obvious I left him be. He then threw at least 3 harmonicas at me during the set none of which I bothered to collect.
