Colin Hurley will have a lot to say about this.

Hurley will not be ready to play for a few years

He’s been struggling this year

Hopefully false. Though it seems like Hurley's recruiting ranking is falling fast. In a perfect world, LSU can pull either Underwood or MacIntyre. I'd say one of those two is a must get, or LSU will be portal hunting for the 2025 starting QB. Hurley will be an 18 year old RS Freshman. Maybe Collins will surprise people. But it seems like he was always a depth signee.

if players would be happy to sit the bench and develop their first two years, then this can happen with players that are recruited

why would anyone be happy doing that when they can play right away somewhere else

Do you mean long term starter or just “the next QB to record a start after Nuss” ?

Good question.

My original thread title was “next great QB” but I knew it was devolve into the usual losers arguing about whether JD is even good let alone great.

I meant the next full season starter at QB.

OP is already prefering the backup that isn't even on campus three years from now

Colin Hurley is supposedly a really underrated prospect and could play early but I could see a 1 year grad transfer possibly as a bridge QB after Nuss ids done. I also expect them to bring a transfer with game experience of some sort to push Nuss and Collins while Hurley redshirts. It might not be a big name guy like Sam Hartman but possibly a group of 5 starting QB that wants to put tape on a bigger stage.

This is much more likely. So, I'd say yes.

It's way harder to evaluate a high school QB.

In what universe do you come to this interpretation?

Strong possibility it’ll be a transfer unless they feel real comfortable about Collins Development and they land a stud blue chip HS QB. The Arizona QB is one to keep an eye on, only a RS FR QB but played really well against USC and has the skill set of Daniels.

What are you talking about? The Collins bus will be ready for boarding in September.

Collins should have had enough time to develop by then but that aside it’ll probably be Underwood

Don’t just assume Nuss will be the starter. If a talented QB prospect is available in the portal I’m sure Kelly will bring them in.

They need to focus all of their transfer attention to defense.

A lot of fans just aren’t used to the new way of college football.

You seem awfully confident that Nuss is next. I have yet to see him play well. That doesn’t mean he can’t, but I am skeptical.

Exactly

Better believe he’ll go after at least 2 wrs out the portal also

Gonna lose a lot of production with 8 and 11 gone.
