Notes from Koki:

- He reaffirms that Tommy White is out for the fall and that Brady Neal and Alex Milazzo are working their way back from injury.

- Jay Johnson notes that Aiden Moffett and Ethan Frey have made big strides of improvement over the summer and through these last couple months.

- A flu has been going through the team, so Jay Johnson said that #LSU will have a lighter squad for Thursday’s scrimmage.

- Jay Johnson said that he wants a new indoor hitting center.

- Gavin Guidry has a foot injury at the moment, Jay Johnson said. He also mentions how much he wants Jake Brown to be a two-way player.

pretty excited about pitching

if we could get a whole season of Hurd pitching like he did at the end of last year that would be awesome.

Jay also at one point called Jump the best HS Pitcher he’s ever recruited

and then all the young Lefties.

Aiden Moffett flashed some brilliance in summer league. He wasn’t as consistent as one would hope, but for a guy to go from throwing 1 strike in his only appearance to being the go to reliever on a playoff team over the summer is impressive.

Frey was on the same team (Mic Paul too). When Frey got there, the team pretty much turned their season around and he was a big reason why.

Lots of time at both RF and 1B, so he will be able to slot in a few different spots for us.

Are we expecting him to be a go to reliever this year, or are you saying he was the go to reliever for his summer team?

Also, do you know how he looked in RF? He didn't look great out there last year, hoping he is much improved.

He was the go to guy this summer.

I watched as many games as I could (probably a more than reasonable amount for summer ball), but that was tough to get a handle on. Number of chances and quality of camera work are big hurdles there. But really, the best way to improve is with reps and reading the ball off a live bat (whether hit to him or not). So I would guess he will look better than last year, which was his first real attempt at playing OF.

I heard Jay say in an interview the other day that IF we could take away just two innings of Hurd's year last season he would have been an all American.

Found that interesting given the perception pre CWS.

it’s probably more than 2 innings.

but he had 0.0 outing against Tennessee and Miss State where he gave up 11 ER.

Yea well we also had Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes leading a team that most of America thought would win it all last season and a large segment of this board thought we wouldn’t win a regional so there’s that little factoid too

Btw we ended up winning the natty.

Never forget SMD, Hurricane Mike, and the boys who said we would struggle against any team with a pulse

If Jay Johnson says something I’m gonna trust him at this point

What is Neal's injury that's taking him so long to recover. He went out when, close to mid season?

IIRC it was a back / spine issue similar to what Josh Smith had

I don’t have a great memory so that could be completely wrong
