To be fair, McCarthy called Gaetz out. He challenged Gaetz to bring it.

We need more votes of no confidence in our government. One of the coolest things about Parliament.

It works better with multiple parties or British wit. If we tried that it would be a bunch of melodramatic political theater and just repeat of talking points like what we saw yesterday prior to the vote.

We need better orators to make that work

They are trying to. It’s never his fault.

as opposed to being on record voting for an R.

You might want to pay more attention to how the world works.

I'd suggest that the original debt deal that structured 7T in additional spending over the next two years, giving clearance to the Dems until after the election helped the Democrats.
How many elections have been won by Republicans by shutting down the government?

I'm disappointed in Chip Roy.

Gaetz broke him too.

Loomer captured a video of him in a serious melt. Chip is devastated by Kevin's ouster.

Don't try to make yourself feel better about this fiasco, Gumbo.

"They" are lashing out because Gaetz did a really, really stupid thing.

He didn't solve anything. He just told the country, "I'll show them I mean business! I'll side with ALL of the Democrats and help my Republican party lose future elections! That'll teach 'em!"

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Who the frick cares who wins elections if the result spending at a 2T deficit?

Do you just get some sort of satisfaction out of pretending you won? We're bankrupt.

Your premise is false. It's both parties shutting down the government and the GOP getting most of the blame because of the media.

And despite receiving most of the blame the GOP as won, a lot.

The GOP won in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2022.

Strange take Russian!! This is what we've needed in the Republican Party for YEARS!! We have an agenda and as Speaker it's your job to MOVE our agenda FORWARD!! Not coalesce with DEMS. The PEOPLE said "no more money to Ukraine" and yet they push another billion dollars through. The insanity of how our government is operating "not in the interest of The People" has to stop somewhere and this was a good starting point.

The fact, in and of itself, that a distinct message was sent…this was well worth the venture. The Republicans can’t be mad about what happened either because sitting on their arse as the majority and breaking promises of what would be done by them is why they are often relegated to minority status.

I'm not trying to justify my feelings. I do not feel guilty about this at all. I support Gaetz. He is doing the right thing.

This needed to be done. The old DC way of continuing resolutions and omnibus bills needs to die.

frick em.

Newt jumped Bob Michael when they won the house in 1994 because Michael, as Minority Leader, was a lazy sack of shite content to run on claiming to want to fix things but not having the votes to do so, nor working towards getting them.

KM was asked what he would offer the Dems for their support and he said, "Nothing". So they didn't support him.

It's really that simple. Whoever wants to be the next speaker just needs to throw the Dems a bone. Funding for Ukraine, a floor vote on impeachment inquiries, or pretty much anything.
